Pizzarelli’s Pizzeria-Chicago Deep Dish is a pizza spot in West County that feels like a legit hole-in-the-wall, best-kept-secret pizza joint. The pizza is wonderful, with an amazing crust that needs no dipping sauce. The New York style pizza is outstanding, and the pepperoni and chicken pizzas are the real thing, with a crispy undercarriage that is perfect and a consistency of sauce and cheese that is everything it should be. The hot wings are very, very good. The deep dish pizza has a delicious chewy dough rolled up on a pizza stone, with sauce rich in flavor of tomatoes and color hidden under a large amount of gooey cheese, and plentiful sausage seasoned to complement the rest. The homemade toasted ravioli is delicious. However, the cannoli needs to be fully filled, as an empty space in the middle is a complaint. There is typically a 30 to 40-minute wait for pickup orders, which can be longer during peak dinner hours, but it is worth it due to high demand. This is a must try for everyone who loves pizza and pasta.
