Missouri is crap for true Mexican food. If you want to start a Mexican restaurant and can't cook. Missouri is the place for you. The two Mexican restaurants in Holts Summit are the best Mexican in the central Missouri. La Dona and Dos Primos. Not the best Mexican I have ever had but at least edible.
My boyfriend has been dying to try birria tacos and was thrilled to find a local place with them on the menu. We called in the order and it was ready quickly! Everyone was so friendly when I went in to pick up the food. The food itself was FANTASTIC! He was really impressed with the salsa, and his high expectations on the birria tacos were surpassed. We will definitely be eating there again and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

If you think you have had Mexican food living in Mid-Missouri, think again. This restaurant has authentic homemade everything! They have a homemade mole sauce that you must try! And homemade, secret recipe chorizo is unforgettable! El Jimador and Dos Primos etc look like taco bell next to La Doña's amazing food. This family oriented family run restaurant is a true gem. If you live within a hundred miles, make the drive, I promise you won't be disappointed.
