We had a delicious breakfast at American Slang during our weekend stay at the Intercontinental in KC. Tracey our server was very friendly and gave us the best service! We will be back!!

Writing, first of all, to compliment the exemplary service of Brooke: our server. My family has a lot of different, contradictory wants and needs; Brooke handled all requests with efficiency and good humor. In addition, the second time we showed up for breakfast, Brooke remembered our preferences: that’s just a WOW. 🤩
Thank you Brooke 😃😃😃

My Power Protein bowl was Noms, will have it again and specifically ask for Brooke as my server next time I am in town. Excellent food, excellent service.

This is quite literally the worst restaurant in Kansas City. I decided to try it again for the first time in eight years and the food is just as awful. Service and drinks were wonderful though.

We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast today at American Slang! Absolutely perfect! It is located inside a lovely hotel in Kansas City. It is gorgeous. Service was excellent. Our server was very observant & courteous. She did a great job! Our meals were so pretty & delicious! I tried the French Toast with fresh berries. Just fabulous! He had traditional eggs, potatoes, bacon, 🥓 & toast. He loved it. He was so excited they offered small jars of jams. Orange 🍊 marmalade was one & he loved it! We would happily go again!

Just stopped in for coffee after our morning walk and Tracey was our barista. She was very friendly and quickly whipped up two delicious iced lattes. So nice to have good coffee and great service right here at the hotel.

Didn't know it was in the Intercontinental Hotel. Nevertheless, the breakfast oatmeal was good.

For for cost to stay for a convention, I would expect a restaurant in an upscale hotel to meet expectations. Waited an hour and 45 minutes for a party of 8. Only two other couples were dining. They were seated after us and served before us. Our food came out dish by dish… and three of the seven were cold. (The other was a salad.) Two dishes came out steaming hot. One was simple chicken fingers and fries. The other three were the BBQ platters and they looked like they had forgotten to microwave the left overs they were serving my guests. We chose to not eat any more meals at the hotel.

Invited 6 of my friends for brunch on SUNDAY THE 25, great service good selection, even though it was a cloudy day the view of the country club plaza was fabulous.

I have dined here a few times, and I appreciate the music and service each time. I loved being able to listen to music on the weekends, and I would love to see that be brought back.

Staff members (Sebastian and Melanie, I believe?) were helpful, attentive, and friendly. Atmosphere was very nice with pleasant lighting and local artists works featured throughout. Food was all delicious with good portions sizes. Cocktails are creative & delicious. Parking was easy and the views from the dining area are fantastic. Highly recommend American Slang!

Loud in the restaurant so I ordered room service. It was more difficult than it should be to order roomservice but it was here extremely fast.

I don't like chocolate so I ordered the funnelcake dessert with raspberry and vanilla sauce....it came with raspberry and chocolate sauce so I didn't get to eat it. I was incredibly bummed.

The grilled cheese with pear and bree was pretty good.

The develed eggs were amazing though.

Worst service, food, and vibe I’ve ever experienced in Kansas City. The menu they advertise online is FAR from the dishes they serve. It’s like bad bar food. A bad representation of a great city. So disappointed.

Steak was overcooked and flavorless. Salmon was overcooked and dry. Service was almost nonexistent.
