Kari's on 39th offers an authentic and delightful Middle Eastern dining experience. The chicken shawarma is delicious, and the baba ganoush is delicate and flavorful. The lentil soup is beautifully spiced with summak and is considered one of the best by many guests. The pita bread is soft, served with olive oil and zaatar, complementing the meal nicely. The falafel is a highlight, crispy on the outside and moist inside, and the mixed grill includes juicy, flavorful chicken, tender lamb chops, and soft beef sheesh kebab, all cooked fresh and not reheated. The food is fresh, delicious, and well-prepared, with appetizers like baba ganoush, hummus, and falafel receiving high praise. The vegetarian options, including falafel sandwich, dolma, and hummus, are equally impressive. The refreshing mint lemonade and big glasses of fresh squeezed lemonades perfectly complement the meal. The atmosphere features a pleasant decor that matches the food, though the furniture appears worn out. The service is good, and free parking is available after 5 pm. The restaurant is kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible. Visitors often enjoy the friendly owner and the tasty, freshly cooked dishes, making Kari's a popular spot for Middle Eastern food on W39th. Guests also mention that if the buffet is on, it’s a great option for those really hungry.
