I'll use any excuse possible to visit this place. The pork tamales are the best tamales within 500 miles. Get a pitcher of Ruby Ritas and enjoy the atmosphere. 10/10ths
The food was cold and hamburger meat for tacos ABSOLUTELY had no seasoning. You get a better tasting taco at TACO BELL. The salsa for chips look like red water and tasted the same!!! The back covered patio area had strong odor of cigarettes. I even observed cigarette trays that had not been emptied. The back parking lot to this restaurant is in very poor condition with trash. The inside needs a complete renovation!!! I have no idea how people say this place has good food. I WOULD NOT recommend this place!!!! I even observed another couple eating and they DID NOT even finish their food.

When archeologists examine the marrow of my bones, they will know I have eaten hundreds of veggie burritos from Los Tules. Kansas City has loads of great Mexican food and Tules is at the top of my list. My top two menu choices are the aforementioned veggie burrito, which is smothered in delicious queso sauce, and the tostadas. One guacamole and one bean tostada are perfect when I need a light lunch. My meat and seafood eating friends are always happy when I bring them here too. The margaritas are delicious, and the service is always fast and friendly. I usually eat around 2-3pm, so I avoid busy times. When friends visit Kansas City, they ALWAYS want Los Tules. There is usually parking available on 17th or on Washington. Whether you dine in or carry out, you'll be glad you chose this local favorite.
