One of the best Chinese places I've eaten at. The manager works very hard and the food is delicious. The manager can be blunt and assertive at times, but growing up in an Asian family, I'd say that's just a part of the 'Asian Experience' ?, so be patient with her.

I’ve lived in Hyde Park for about three years now and I love going to Peking for dinner. Usually I do takeout, but I dined in with my boyfriend this time. The beef and snow peas were awesome and the owner even gave me extra rice to go with it when she boxed up my meal. The folks who own Peking are very hardworking and welcoming.My only criticism is that the clear table mats at Peking need replacing since they are so old and probably too difficult to clean properly nowadays, leaving some residue.(P.S. - any reviews saying that the owners are “rude” are just ignorant of the cultural differences. You get the energy you give when you’re there!)

Placed a takeout order over the phone and the lady was quick and helpful. Came to pick up and while I had to wait a few minutes to be greeted/pay, the lady helping me was super nice, she even threw in a free order of egg rolls. Good food, good service.

I have ate here multiple times just here two weeks ago with my spouse. She was rude then, but we dealt with it because she was not being so rude to use then ppl on her personal phone She was upset with someone else. She was a delight last time this time that I come, alone she is telling me I need to pay for my food upfront, while I’m dining in establishment and usual ask after we eat and demand I was ready had just sat down not even long enough literally 2mins getting very loud and outright with me I do not recommend any African-Americans. Come spend your money. Your money is not welcome here I’m mixed Asian and definitely this place need a new owners or management

Food is pretty decent, especially for being open later at night. Love the vintage look of the place, idk why everyone complains about the woman there, she is super nice and gives me free drinks just for tipping. Maybe that's the problem, y'all aren't tipping that sweet

The lady there was incredibly rude, she messed up our order and then charged us for what she messed up and then wouldn’t leave until I put down the tip. I wouldn’t get paid to eat there again.

I reads reviews about a woman who was always yelling. She's still the cashier and waitress. She's just trying to run a business. And she's definitely not yelling at you. Just trying to get food to her customers faster.

Just tried to have lunch here, she was rude and literally asked what I wanted. Told me to get a menu then totally ignored me. Didn't offer to seat me. Gave the menu back and told her to have a nice day after she charge the guy picking up food 18 cents for more than one sauce. After I left, I thought, I am so tired of flat out ignorance. I went back and told her how rude she was and she, while yelling at me, told me how wrong about everything I had was about literally stating just exactly what I had experienced. I told them I was going to put this review up and she chased me out the door, screaming what I am sure where profanities in her language. This place came highly recommend but I guess that's only if she's not there or in a better mood. He was just as bad, just yelling what needed to be done instead of getting up and off his butt. She yelled at the guy she wanted the .18c from too, he gave her a dollar and told her to no need for all your yelling and rudeness. He literally stopped me outside and said, I guess we know why the have no business. Can not disagree with man!
