After a two day drive, we were greeted by a kind and helpful young lady at check in. Unfortunately, any positive first impression was immediately overshadowed upon entering our cabin. The unit had not been properly serviced, it reeked of cigarette smoke, the beds were unmade, wet and dirty towels were left on the floor, and to our shock, we even discovered what appeared to be a woman’s thong on the floor. Trash had not been removed, and overall, the cabin was unacceptable.

First time dining here and it is a beautiful location! Young man that waited on us was very pleasant and prompt, although he did cuss in front of my children when he accidentally spilled some water while topping us off. My husband and I chuckled and this but someone else may have been upset.
The portions and taste of food were very much in line with pricing with the exception of the desserts. It was my birthday so I splurged a little and got the carrot cake.(priced at $10.99)To...read full review
We love staying out at the cabins at Thousand Hills! Even with the change in management this year it’s been great.
I have to especially thank and compliment Taylor who works out here. He has been so nice, helpful, and all around amazing with making sure we have everything we need to make our stay a great one. He has gone above and beyond what would be expected and it is truly appreciated!!

The Lakeside Grille at Thousand Hills State Park provides a relaxing dining experience with a stunning view of the lake from the deck. The ambiance remains calming, and the service continues to impress. Guests can enjoy reasonably priced drinks and seasonal options like shrimp cocktail. The staff ensures a great time for all customers, even during busy nights. The restaurant is an excellent spot for a date night, featuring delicious food and friendly service. The new owners have crafted a menu that offers good options, with many dishes tasting great. While some items like fried fish with sides of broccoli and mac and cheese, as well as blackened catfish and steak, have received praise, there are mixed reviews regarding the food quality. Some guests found the steak bland and gristly, and the fish overly fishy, although others enjoyed the fresh French fries with homemade ranch. The food portions are generally sizeable and in line with the pricing, though some customers noted that the dessert sizes were small for the price. Overall, the Lakeside Grille is regarded as one of the nicer places in the area and a gem worth revisiting, especially for its clean atmosphere and reasonable prices.
