“Well I was looking for a place to grab a sandwich and ended up near a different sandwich shop when I finished work. Looked at the reviews and one of them said the place was mid at best and recommended here instead. Hot damn am I glad I listened, easily in the top 5 sandwiches I've ever had, will absolutely be coming back again to try more!“
“Full disclosure: the owner happens to be ay friend. That said, it's still a great little neighborhood bar that also serves a nice selection of food. Their pizza is what everyone raves about, but I also had the fried artichoke hearts with a marinara sauce--really tasty. So here's the "Gallery" part: Dave has local artists' paintings up on the walls; everything is for sale, and the prices are actually affordable. The menu has artists names for the dishes, and they spelled all the names correctly!Nice selection of wines and beers, too.All in all, great place to meet a friend or a group.“
“I hosted my husband's 40th birthday in the upstairs portion of the restaurant. They were very easy to work with to reserve the space and plan out the menu for the guests. The food was incredible and the service was top notch.Vegetarian options: We held our event on a Friday during lent and guests had plenty of non-meat options to choose from.Parking: I parked in front of the restaurant with paid parking. My guests parked in the paid garage with no issues“
“This is the best creole cuisine I've ever been in, loved the atmosphere, the service was great, and the food OMG!!! The pulled pork melts in your mouth and the gumbo is amazing, as a plus they have a humongous variety of beers, definitely this turned out a staple for us in St. Charles, love it! ❤“
“What can I say about this bar....It's inclusive, diverse, fun, chaotic, reasonably priced, ultra friendly! There's always events or show going on, the staff is epic, every night is a good experience, this bar is an experience from start to finish.“
“Great little neighborhood bar I’ve been frequenting for years. $3 apple pie shots are a beloved staple here. They have pizzas and hotdogs(?) but you can also order food from the IMO’s right across the street, too! One pool table which is usually busy. Super cute patio & free popcorn. Newest best thing?! Twisted Tea on draft babyyy, served w ice and a lemon wedge, I love it.“
“Excellent friendly service. The food was outstanding. We each had a sandwich and both of us said it was one of the best we had ever had. Beef brisket and smoked turkey. BBQ sauces were fabulous. Don't miss out on the horseradish aioli.“
“Place has a good atmosphere and really great service! Ashley the bartender there is phenomenal. She knows exactly what I drink as soon as she sees me. And as soon as I walk through the door and she says hey, she puts a beer at an open seat for me. She is always smiling and always attentive even when she’s running 100 mph. Makes stopping in for a beer or spending several hours with friends worth while when you have people like her!! Happy to see that someone still enjoys their job and the people they serve! Keep it up crossroads! And keep killing it Ashley!!!“
“PJ’s Tavern is a Kirkwood staple. Favorites are the pizza, quesadilla, bison burger, chicken tenders and club sandwich. Get a cup of potato soup as an app- amazing. We’ve been coming here for 20+ years because the food is great, the environment is a that of a familiar hometown pub and the service has always been excellent.“
“Came on with no reservation and was sat right away. Amelia gave us wonderful and quick service but I feel she went above and beyond making multiple suggestions that made our experience even better. The staff was friendly and helpful, overall we enjoyed for a quick last minute weekday dinner!“
“Love this bar. Great little dive bar. Heather is a great bartender and the regular crowd is fun and chill. If there's a problem, it's being caused by someone that doesn't frequent the establishment. Drinks are cheap and the bathrooms are clean. I can't wait for the new patio to be open in the spring.“
“This place is great, I love the fact that they are LGBTQ friendly. I took my daughter and her best friend who is disabled there for the first time, and they welcomed her with open arms very friendly atmosphere, and the karaoke was great. And the fact that it was wheelchair accessible made it even better. We were downstairs and The bartender was amazing and friendly, this is definitely a place I will visit again and my daughter has declared this for go to from now on. I highly recommend that you check this place out.Wheelchair accessibility: It was very easy for my daughters friend who is in a wheelchair to get in upstairs, and then to get downstairs where the karaoke is we just wheeled around to the back and went right in through the door. There was plenty of room, and everyone was very welcoming.“
“I love this place! Especially the bartender Chris! He is my absolute favorite: kind, wise and an exceptional bartender! Love hanging out here in the dark gothic historic bar. Thank you for a great time ~ Please note the worst reviews are like 100 years old!“
“We’re regulars, but last night celebrated our wedding after party at Hummel’s. Dawn made sure we had some of our favorite beer and that she’d stocked up on what everyone would want. She started campfires, helped make our sparkler entrance happen, and even surprised us with fireworks. This is the kind of bar you trust with this special of a day.“
“I usually end up here every once in a while when a friend comes in from out of town. There is a variety of drinks. Because we always end the night here, I can't comment on the food. The service is always nice it has always felt to me like a neighborhood bar. It's very spacious and we don't typically have to wait for a table. The bathroom doors can be a little tricky one seems to stick so knock and give it a firm pull.“
“I absolutely loved this place food was good and drinks were amazing it was my first time at a bar and in St. Louis and barb and Josh was outgoing and funny and kept the atmosphere alive they were kind enough to take a pic with me, I definitely will come back“
“Warning: heavy smoking in here. I'm not a big fan of that these days and I had no idea before I came that they'd allow that in here. Anyway, for a dive bar it's a decent spot, I've seen other reviews about the owner being rude but he was fine to me and the party I was with. This place is good for darts too, I think they have leagues here. Drinks are cheap and they prefer cash but they do take cars and I believe they add an additional charge on at the end (but you don't get a breakdown of prices so there's no way to really know). I won't return often only bc of the smoking but if that didn't bother me (and it was a bit closer), I'd return. If you're a smoker and a fan of dive bars then this should be a good place for you.“
“Love this place! Great people, low priced drinks, and some of their newest karaoke DJ, Lindsey, has the best sound system I've sang on in years. You can hear yourself perfectly and the sound is extremely well balanced.Ashby Pub still stands as my favorite local dive. Cathy makes this the most welcoming and friendly place you'll ever find. A diamond in the rough to be sure.“
“Nice little neighborhood bar. All your standard amenities, pool, darts, jukebox. Great drink prices. Just be aware it is very smokey... could use some better ventilation, but as long as you know what you're in for, it's a fun place.“
“An establishment that is licensed to sell alcohol to be consumed on the premises; pub short for publik house. The term first appears late in the 17th century to differentiate inns, taverns, and alehouse that served alcohol from private houses that did not.“
“My boyfriend and I were visiting from Ohio. We were looking for a bar to throw some soft tip darts and have some drinks. We tried Meramac because it was the closest to our air bnb. We were SOO happy that we went there first! The owner greeted us out front and was welcoming from the moment we initially approached the bar, all the way thru to the hugs goodbye when we closed the bar down!My boyfriend & I throw darts at a lot of bars and I can say, I have NEVER felt SO welcomed and had SO much fun throwing against/with 2 ppl unknown to us. Usually when ppl want to throw with us, they are either terrible at throwing or they have horrible attitudes & sometimes both?. HOWEVER, this was NOt the case at Meramac!!!!! Amir and Keith were remarkable darters and even better attitudes, personalities and humor!! We had SUCH a great time that when we returned home yesterday and went to one of our regular dart tournaments we were both separately telling the story of Meramac Tavern in at. Louis!! Even our regular dart friends back home were shocked to hear how amazing our experience was!! Also, the bartender Logan was SO wonderful, kind and very attentive; He was SO patient with a mistake I made❤️ thank you again Logan! Thank you Amir, Keith & Logan for showing us SUCH a great time!!!“
“*edited review*I am updating my original review because of the great service from our server in the bar area yesterday night, 3/26.He was very helpful and accurate and brought a fun personality. I wish i remembered his name.Food was delicous, trivia night was a fun time, & I will be back to support my neighbors.“
“Little dive bar in bayless/rat city. Everyone is a family in their. Carol has kept a affordable price on drinks and a safe fun comfortable environment for all patrons. My parents and I have been going here for years and the friends we created there are more family than anything. I recently lost my mother and without their support I don't know what I would have done.“
“I had a beautiful burger at FBC today. My only complaint is I ordered medium and it came well done. Also, the bar waitress just wasn’t a good listener. I asked for water no ice, it came with ice. I also asked for a pre meal cup of chili I had to remind her to put in. I’ll be back though.“
“Mel is bartending Monday and Saturday .NICE liI didn't know they had a second room behind the bar. Nice outdoor patio in front . Irish beer specials every day!!! Pizza crust comes from the Hill and they add the goodies . About twelve items to choose from . Bar service only if it's busy and it usually is !“
“Stopped in since internet said there was lots of beers on tap. Only had 4 beers on tap rest were bottle or can. Asked for an old fashion an was told didn’t have ingredients so that was a downfall. If you’re not a smoke told like the smell this place isn’t for you. Very smoky inside. Prices were really “
“The Mack is always a nice stop during the week for a drink and a bite to eat. Nice atmosphere, good specials and solid food options. For me, it's too loud and crowded on the weekends but that's a personal preference, so if you're looking for that..by all means stop in on a Friday night! I usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are always friendly. Occasionally the inside vaping can be a bit much if a number of people are going at once *but* it's usually not that bad. Great neighborhood staple that's consistent and enjoyable.“
“dive bar experience, higher-end prices. cocktails run 8.50+. we enjoy the pizza, but crust is tasteless. the sauce is a bit overcooked, but has a delicious heat/spice to it. sausage could use a kick.We are told 45 min for our Chicago pizza, (not sure if thin crust takes as long.) overall it took 135 minutes to get our order despite not being packe but that's expected. they are remodeling, perhaps an additional hand in the kitchen with improve with the remodel.“
“We had our mid-winter Model T Ford lunch here. Probably 25-30 folks showed up. They have an area that was able to accommodate us all, and we had great service, even though we were a larger party. The serviced was spot on, drinks came out quickly and the food orders followed close behind. So many different dishes were served and it seemed as though everyone enjoyed the food. They did not seem to mind we sat around for a couple of hours swapping our stories. Another nice thing was they let us have separate checks, which makes for a much easier time for our group. There is more than one location in the area, and we plan on trying a different one next time.“
“We came here on an impromptu date night, and it was great! Plenty of parking, lots of seats and lots of St. Louis decor. Food all looked good and we had a hard time picking. Chose to get the appetizer sampler and a custom double decker pizza. We picked meatballs, fresh garlic, artichoke hearts and pepperocinis. Lots of leftovers! Everything tasted great and paired well with a couple of beers. Our server did a great job of getting g us what we needed and giving us space to enjoy it. Very friendly and helpful! We are looking forward to coming back soon and trying the sandwiches and salads!“
“Love this place. Very relaxed, down to earth crowd. Good patio and inexpensive drinks. Huge shot pours. Like WHOA size. They only take cash, but have an atm inside! Met the management/owner and she is great too. Played video bowling with a group of us. Definitely going back.“
“It’s another great neighborhood bar where everybody usually knows everybody but you can still go in there and not know anyone and feel like you are a part of them. I only went there for drinks because it was late. It was nice to talk to a few people I’ve never talk to before and they were very interesting and very likable. I would suggest it to anybody.“
“I decided to walk in on a whim, as soon as I came through the door a patron said "welcome" that pretty much sums up the feeling that place exudes. Sat at the bar for several hours chatting with several people. I highly recommend the 09 Pub.“
“Everything is good here, service included. My grandmother always loved this place, and they serve her favorite quesadillas of all time. We come here on her birthday in February every year to honor her memory, and get the quasadias every time. I wish they'd rename them on the menu, "Renee's Quesadillas".“
“Pretty classic Sports Bar experience; you got your burgers, wings, and a couple of vegetarian options. The food is pretty good year-round if you're in to that kind of stuff. The owners are big Mizzou fans, so you'll notice a lot of decor centered around that. Otherwise a relaxed environment for any small-to-medium groups.“
“Great neighborhood bar with the best service from the bartenders. The patio is perfect even on a cold night they have the best heaters. When you go ask about Shake a shift so much fun !! We will be backThey have great neighborhood pizza that delivers there makes for a perfect mix beer and pizza ?“
“I have enjoyed this place immensely! I have a mutual friend who works as a lead bartender at an another establishment close by. She introduced me to Andi who seems to really lead the staff and the customers when you walk in! Andi is always gracious and welcoming and always makes a point of saying hello and wanting to know what I need or my group needs! I love this place and I appreciate how welcoming Andi is!! Thanks Hive!! ?“
“The burgers are amazing, the green beans with smoked turkey are to die for, they make the ranch and blue cheese in-house for the wings, and the atmosphere is great. It’s got multiple rooms with games in each one.I’m so glad it’s open again.Parking: It has plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: Family environment and has a kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Spots in front, private bathrooms“
“Today, we enjoyed lunch at O'Connell's pub. It's one of my favorite spots. Their sandwiches offer generous portions for the price, and their chili and breaded mushrooms are absolutely delicious. While they're known for their burgers, their sandwiches are equally satisfying. I'll definitely be returning, and I highly recommend giving them a try. Don't miss out--stop by and experience it for yourself.“
“I recently left a positive review for Fallon's, but my most recent experience was so good that I wanted to share again. When you order something here, you can tell there are no shortcuts. The salads are always fresh, and their homemade dressings stand out among St. Louis restaurants. The Reuben sandwich is generously stacked with corned beef, earning Fallon's a high rank for both quality and price. I tried a burger, and it was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Their variety of sides includes options like cottage cheese, coleslaw, onion rings, and, of course, fries. I particularly enjoy their pretzel and cheese appetizer; the pretzels are moist, and the cheese sauce is pretty good. The wings are also a safe bet--they're well-flavored and well-made. A friend ordered the corned beef and cabbage entree, and I was so impressed that I had to sample it. Dining here offers great value, and the service is always kind. I find myself coming back even more because I continue to be impressed with each visit.“
