“My Brothers and I spent the weekend In town for NASCAR in Kansas City and stayed at the Goat Shed above the the Goat Grub and Pub which was Very clean and Historical would totally recommend if you need a cool place stay ! We ate at the Pub though out the weekend , various food off the menu all of it was Great 👍 if your driving by on the I-29 well worth the 10 minute detour for Grub ! We grew up in a small town in Manitoba Canada🇨🇦 and it just felt like we were at Home 😎 the locals all had a smile and a wave 👋 for ya ! Totally will go Back .

“In downtown Highland who knew ? We went thru Highland for the first time since 1971 when I went to Highland Juco. I didnt even realize US 36 now routes a mile or two south of town.

Took my wife on a long road trip from Dallas, Tx. What a change in 53 years. Then there was a diner for breakfast and lunch on the east end of main and Ernie's bar about a block east of the college on Main....neither is there...even the physical buildings are gone.

Buuuttt Kirkwood has taken over. New (bot sure how new) building on the southside of Main a couple blocks east of campus.

Food from salads to burgers to plate dinners....all very good.

Beer....lots of great beers, even Boulevard from K.C.

Service is great, friendly, knowledgable and they CARE.

If you are headed down 36 east or west...get OFF in Highland and stop into Kirkwood.

Prices are more than reasonable even in the Biden inflated economy.“
