“My family and I visited Big Ry's to celebrate my son's birthday and it was a great experience! The staff were more than accommodating. They went the extra mile and provided paper plates. plastic forks and utensils for the cake we brought, without us having to ask. Our drinks were always full and the pizza was AMAZING!! Hands down the best thin crust pizza I have had. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend Big Ry's!”

“They do amazing with making sure to replace an entire plate if there’s ever an accidental mess up with my food since I cannot have dairy, wheat or eggs due to allergies. “Valentine's Day dinner 2024. Had reservations. Had to wait briefly while walk-in diners were seated before us. Not sure what was up with that. But we got a great table so maybe that's why we waited. Food was excellent as usual. Waitress was great. FYI, if you order a cocktail on ice, they charge $5 for a large ice cube, no warning. Odd. Could have taken the ice from our water glass for free. All in all, it was a pleasant experience with good food, just a couple unexpected quirks, atypical of Baxters.Older: View is great. Food is good and plentiful. Short wait for a "great table" by a wall (to be fair there was a window by my husband) at 149 pm on a Thursday before Memorial day.”

“Our first impression driving up was that we were about to have a unique and memorable experience at The Tavern. The food did not disappoint and the service at our table was excellent. The only criticism I would give is when we walked in we had a few minutes to wait for our table and we felt like we were outsiders at the bar. We were going to get a drink and sit by the fire but it took awhile for the bartender to stop talking to what appeared to be regulars and wait on us. We did finally get drinks and sat down. The other thing that really struck us was how the decor seemed like an afterthought and the items looked like they were picked up at a yard sale for out dated restaurants. I pictured since it is an old rustic cabin it would be decorated with similar decor. Our table wobbled terribly and was very small and the chairs were stained and uncomfortable at the fireplace with a hodgepodge of mismatched cabinets packed in around them. We will probably return for the excellent food sometime but for the price it was not the atmosphere I would have expected.”

“We did a girls weekend and went here as it was close to our vrbo. AMAZING food ( with generous portions) and super tasty margaritas(more triple sec flavored as opposed to lime). Very clean and chill atmosphere. Leftovers are even better on day 2. It's well worth the drive, loved it!”

“It was a warm Sunday in February, and the place was hopping. I am sure that in winter, they were not planning on the turnout that they had. This is my favorite little bar and grill at the lake. Was just too busy for the wait staff to keep up. Not necessarily their fault.”

“Went on a Sunday. The four stars instead of three stars is really for our server Maddi who was attentive. We ordered a half order of nachos for an appetizer. There was barely ANY chicken and barely any of their cheese sauce on them. They were OK but when I inquired about extra sauce they said it would be an extra $6!!!!! Then our actual dinner orders came out. My shrimp and cajun potatoes were very good. Side salad was just alright. My friend ordered the shrimp BLT. He said it was good but again, they shorted him on the sauce. Would not order the nachos again simply because there was basically no chicken or sauce on them. Would advise on them being a little more generous on, at the very least, the sauces.”

Loved the homemade sauces, and homemade Italian dressing is also a must try! The garlic bread was perfect! Had two apps, 4 full dinners and had a 12 inch pizza to go, bought an extra 16 oz to go of the Alfredo sauce all for $100. Met the owner before we left and she shared her story and I can tell you that you will be glad you tried this restaurant and will want to go back again and again! Wow! Sarah is a treasure. Our waiter Addison was new but still did a great job. Don't miss Capone's if your anywhere near the Lake of the Ozarks area.”

Only 2 complaints, the Mahi Mahi fish taco was a little dry and the shrimp was cut into tiny peices in my chimichunga (bad form ;( ). Other then that, we definitely will eat there again, freshest chips I have ever had in a Mexican restaurant ?!”
