If I could recommend only one place to try in Springfield, it would be Tacos El Gordo. We always feel so welcomed when we eat here. Their food is authentic, fresh and made with love. Great specials! There is still so much I want to try on the menu.

Tacos El Gordo | Mexican is a small taqueria in Springfield that serves authentic Mexican food. The food is fire, amazing, and absolutely ridiculous how good it is. Fresh, wholesome, and made with love. They have a big selection of meats to choose from, with tortillas that are the small street taco kind, well served. Great specials include dollar taco days on Mondays and Thursdays, and a lunch special for $10 with generous portions. The staff provides great service with a smile, and customers always feel so welcomed. The space is small and simple, with a couple tables, but the mural outside is a beautiful touch. One customer tried four meats, another went veggie, and both were grinning. Another family of 5 deferred to the staff and were not disappointed. Specific meals mentioned include pupusas mezcla (mixed - carnitas, beans, cheese) and horchata to drink. This isn’t just a taco spot; it’s a weekly ritual.
