If you want an authentic Chinese food fair, this is the place! This restaurant offers authentic Chinese Chao Zhou cuisine which is the only one in St. Louis. The dishes are prepared with authentic spices and flavors. Don’t be confused if you can’t find the price for the dishes, just ask the owner and they will tell you. It is a small operation and you can take free tea and water from the “help yourself“ area. It can be easily missed from the street since no special advertisement is put out. After trying it once I’ll definitely come back for more delicious dishes!

Very good food. Some reviews are about price. I found prices to be in line with other restaurants, if not better. Just ask if you have concerns. I am an authenticity first kind of person and I found their food to be the most authentic southern style Chinese food I've had in STL. Go here if you like home cooking and hole in the wall style. I can't recommend enough!

Don't let the shabby appearance scare you away. And yes, it's a little expensive. But the food is legit. I grew up in San Francisco, and in my opinion, this is better than most of the Chinese places there. Very traditional and authentic. Get the Chao Zhou roast duck and the other items on the menu with the chef recommendations.

The food was good and delicious. Some of the dishes is so unique that you can't really see them in other Chinese restaurants. However, the price of dishes are not clear. The are not shown in the manual. You would probably know the price until you get the bill, which makes it not so pleasant.

Great food but just cannot justify the price. Make sure you ask the price before ordering. The soup is awesome so does the duck. The milk custard is very authentic Shunde style.

A letter from the court to Jiuchongtian, demoted to Chaozhou Road by 8,000 in the evening. If you want to eliminate evils for the sake of sages, you are willing to spend the rest of your life.Where is Yunheng Qinling's home? Snow embraces blue and stands still.Knowing that you are far away, you should be interested, so that you can take my bones by the riverside.

Word around the street is that this place is about to close down for good, so enjoy this restaurant while you can. When walking in, I was immediately surprised by how empty the restaurant was and that there were no prices on the menu. Don't be too worried, everything is fairly priced, though the portions can be a bit small at times. I did like the duck that was served here, but the pot of fried rice was underwhelming. For reference, I think you'll spend around 13-20 per dish unless you get something like duck or fish. This is a great place to go when other restaurants at olive are fully booked.

No price on menu. A little pricey in terms of the food. They are not bad, but just can’t justify the price.

Pricey - over $80 for 2 appetizers and one entree. Also, no price on the menu. Not worth coming. Place is small and dirty.

Such good, and I have to assume very authentic, food here! Started with an Oyster pancake... VERY good and waaaay different! We also had a marinated combo dish that had all sorts of different delicious meats to nibble on. The Taro Duck and Beef & Bok Choy were just PERFECT. The straw vegetables were delectable and the stir fried eggs with pork were good too. SAVE ROOM for the Custard Pudding with Bittersweet Caramel! Words canNOT describe. Serve yourself water, tea, and rice. NOT a real pretty place, but the food is worth it!!!

Wonderful authentic Chinese restaurant with Chiu Zhou cuisine. It's located on Olive Blvd at Chinatown. It is a family owned restaurant with so many great Chinese dishes. A group of 4 visited for dinner on Saturday. We enjoyed everything here. Pricing is really reasonable as well. I highly recommend everyone to try this restaurant. A few dishes I would highly recommend: 1) Taro Duck 2) Marinated combo dish 3) Oyster Pancake 4) All desserts in the fridge!

This place is really authentic. Fortunately, we came with a friend who knows what everything is. It's hard to order something bad but there are many dishes that I was completely unfamiliar with. Any of the duck dishes are fantasy. We ate family style so we were able to sample 6 different dishes. I really liked the taro duck and the beef with bok Choy. The straw vegetables were super. I wasn't a fan of the oyster pancake but our three other diners loved it. Very reasonably priced.

Nothing to see here, folks......but don't even think about moving along! This is a store front very casual place with absolutely authentic food. Dishes are served family style - menu had limited English but enough to know what you want to order- there are specials as well. Staff is very gracious and helpful. We were lucky enough to have several dishes to try and all were worth repeating!
