I hate to put such a negative review for a restaurant that my family and I enjoy so much but tonight was unacceptable. I went tonight around 8 and not one single waitress or host acknowledged me standing by the hostess stand. I was looking over the menu and was the first person in line. 2 of the staff literally walked past me to serve the gentleman behind me. Thai Country Cafe is a cozy spot with a retro vibe, decorated with old tennis rackets and fake vegetables on the walls. The staff is attentive, with servers like Bo providing friendly service. The restaurant is known for its pad Thai and red curry with seafood, which many customers enjoy. Regular visitors praise the shrimp pad Thai and crab Rangoon, noting that both have maintained their freshness and taste over the years. The Thai iced coffee is also popular. Recent reviews mention that the service remains excellent and the food is generally good, with some noting that the portions are shareable and the dishes are delicious. However, some guests found the atmosphere a bit dark and suggested it could use better ventilation. A few customers experienced issues with certain dishes, such as tougher pad Thai noodles and sticky rice, and noted that the flavor of some dishes differs from other Thai places they’ve tried. Overall, the restaurant continues to be a favorite for those seeking flavorful curry dishes and fresh rolls, despite occasional inconsistencies when the main chef is absent.
