“On 9/12/2025 my husband and I were having dinner at Papa Chubbys. We were there on our motorcycle as it is Bikefest weekend at the lake. My husband had a medical emergency as we were eating. There was not a person that was working there that did not jump in to help us. Our waitress was amazing. The girls that came from behind the bar to call 911, and help us, were amazing. The gentleman that brought candy and a cupcake to help get his blood sugar up, was amazing. The people sitting at the table next to us, I am not sure what I would have done without their help in that moment. They kept me calm, they helped me take care of him. Everything. This place, the staff, the people are absolutely top notch. We will be spending more time and money going forward at Papa Chubbys. Thank all of you for everything.”

“I recommend the fried green beans and burgers (I've had the Dam Burger, and the Hangover burger.) It's not too pricey for the portions, and the sauce cups are filled pretty full. The burgers are a little dry, but they have a nice crisp and even texture on the outside of them. The flavor of the burgers are good as well, and I recommend adding boom boom sauce on them (if you like something spicy.)”

“I usually cum here every summer at least 2-4 times per week while on our vacation...I enjoy the food very much. but this last time I witnessed a situation that I still don't know how I feel about it....I literally watched an employee totally get wasted like slurring her words to the point i of not recognizing what she was saying ..she started becoming a bit hostile and loud almost to the point of obnoxious while we ate our dinner there last weekend then we were there enjoying our friends and conversation long enough I watched that girl barely able to walk to her car and proceed to drive her vehicle (very much under the influence) thru the parking lot letting passerbys Kno she had to go pick up her child...and mind u this waitress was not our waitress that evening but it was very clear by her behavior getting totally wasted was just another night working and me being a worried mom I ended up almost glued to her that evening hoping maybe I was overreacting....I was not ....the fact of her boss allowing this behavior on the clock then letting her leave still inhibited to pick her child up is beyond irresponsible and wreckless...I mean lord have mercy if this woman should wreck one night leaving there....I'm just saying you would think they would have a limit what u can drink while working at least for everyone's safety. come on lake ozark ..DO BETTER!!”

“My wife and I were finally kid free for a day and decided to try something new, we decided on twisted Tony's and let me tell you I got the half sandwich with a bowl of their white turkey chili, the sand was the voodoo sandwich and it was probably the most delicious thing I've ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth 😆. No for real it was so good that I ordered one to go to eat later along with a Philly. my new favorite restaurant. I hate Facebook and made an account just to post this.”

I put them right up there with El Tapatio Taqeuria inside the mall in Jefferson City. If you are looking for fast, great tasting authentic Mexican. This place and the one at Jefferson City. “So, it gave me great pleasure that I could give my husband a fantastic dining experience for his birthday at The Tavern Trattoria in Laurie. We come from a big city (Omaha) so we have experienced fine dining but both of us feel that John Buchanan and staff have provided equal to or better than anything we experienced previously. We made reservations at the Trattoria. We are probably weird in that we choose not to eat in the dining room, but dine in the bar, where the ambiance is simply beautiful. Lovely Jessica behind the bar took great care of us, making note of the fact it was my husband Wayne‘s birthday. We each enjoyed a happy hour cocktail and then moved on to our main course. I really enjoyed the short rib lasagna with the house salad. The birthday boy enjoyed the voodoo pasta – which he had his last visit and thought was delicious – along with a Caesar salad. I ordered a bottle of the Chiante, which was a perfect pairing for our meal. All dishes were extraordinary. Afterward, we enjoyed a leisurely cigar and cocktail in the company of other like-minded patrons in the Oak and Ember lounge at the Trattoria. Our birthday experience was a true delight and we thank the Buchanans for a truly wonderful experience.”

“We enjoyed our time at Baxter's Lakeside Grill. Scott did an excellent job serving us. The hostess took our picture when we entered the restaurant, but we never received a copy. I ordered a frozen drink, but when I received it, it seemed like it was sitting for some time before I received it. Normally it is red and yellow, but this time it was all red. Our food was great, well done. The birthday dessert was excellent. Great job.”
