“If you have to be stuck in the Gulfport airport, it turns out you can eat a whole bunch of good food at this place. The red beans and rice are better than Mother's in NOLA. And that is no lie. The Po boy had a cooler full of shrimp - so many I almost tapped out. If you leave hungry, it's your own damn fault.“

“Absolutely incredible spot that feels and tastes like you’re right back on the island.

I had the Jerk Chicken with yellow rice, cabbage, and plantains, and my girlfriend got the Curry Chicken with rice & beans, mixed veggies, and plantains. Both plates were straight-up authentic. The jerk had that perfect smoky spice with just the right heat and had that perfect char, and the curry tasted like it came straight out of a Jamaican home kitchen. Everything was seasoned perfectly, nothing watered down, nothing “Americanized.” I wanted authentic and I am glad we stopped here.

You can tell this place cooks with real love and island soul. Even the plantains were done right; soft, caramelized, and slightly crisp on the edges. The yellow rice had that deep flavor that soaks up every bit of the sauce layered on it.

And I have to mention the woman who helped us was an absolute sweetheart. She made us feel like family the second we walked in. She was disappointed I live so far away and would be back regularly, but I sure wish I could be because she told me about their great weekday lunch specials! You just don’t get that kind of warmth and authenticity in many restaurants anymore.

This isn’t a chain. This isn’t some watered-down version of Caribbean food. This is real Jamaican comfort food, the kind that reminds you why small local spots like this are worth the drive.

“Quick service, spiced to your request, the Hot and Sour soup is very great, but the Spring Rolls are to die for❣️❣️Baby shrimp inside with fresh cabbage, crispy fried…Yummy. Be sure to order early as they can run out of these delicious rolls. The rest of their menu is also good, with huge portions. It is a favorite for take-out for both home and office. Call ahead or order on arrival. About an 8 minute wait is my usual time after ordering before walking out the door. Highly recommend!!!“

I got me a Cafe Ole and three beignets and it took a minute for this to get done cuz the fryer was down so they whipped out the Fry Daddy. Whatever it was and started doing it even on a more granular level... And the results were fantastic. I'm very glad I decided to come here versus some of these other places around here, so this is a solid reason to come to this casino even if you don't gamble. I think it was like three bucks $350 for three fresh made hot out of the oil beignets with the perfect amount of powdered sugar on them like they're supposed to have and the cafe Olay was tremendous.
