Restaurantji's guide to Byram's top Mexican dining experiences.
“Food was great, but I wanted my steak cooked more tender. 1 or 2 beverages were forgotten about, but they brought them out as soon as I reminded them. Overall, everything else was great!!! Certain dishes, two of my kids could eat from one plate so I took advantage of that, plus they have reasonable dishes that u can buy for two kids to split.“
“We were staying in Byram overnight at one of the local hotels on a referral from the clerk,we chose this one. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were seated right away and given excellent service at a very reasonable price. Delicious food and generous portion sizes. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.“
“I finally found a place that serves some traditional Mexican dishes that I haven't been able to find here in the Sip! My Fast Food King grew up in Texas, so he loves his TexMex, he's a Tacos and Quesadillas kinda guy. As for me, I grew up in Cali, so I constantly look for the fresh raw seafood cured in various citrus aguachiles. We ordered the 3-tier seafood tower, and the grilled octopus entrée. I love that it's a big sample of their oysters, chilled molcajete, and coctel.Bottom tier: Raw oysters with seasoned boiled clams - If you want an elevated raw oyster dish, this is it! We got half with verde aguachile and the other half was the rojo aquachiles. If you've never heard of aguachiles, it's different chiles blended in a citrus marinade and is used to cure your seafood. The oysters were topped with pico and cured shrimp. They were both delicious, but the rojo aguachile was the favorite of the two, it had a nice sweetness to it, but I gotta warn you it has a kick. I'd definitely order this again 10/10Middle tier: Chilled Seafood Molcajete - There were a ton of seafood all marinated and cured in what seems like a chilled gazpacho, that's the best I can describe it, he called it Mexican Poké ? This was also good, but not better than the oysters and the coctel 8/10Top tier: Shrimp Coctel - I've had shrimp coctel that taste like tangy ketchup water, you know the water that first comes out of a bottle when you forgot to shake it? And some coctel just taste way too sweet, and I have to adjust it to my liking. This one was perfect! I literally didn't have to add anything at all, and that's rare haha 9/10Grilled Octopus - When it came out it looked like a giant octopus steak! I've never had one that was melt in your mouth tender, you could cut it with a fork. For the folks that wants to try octopus, I HIGHLY recommend getting it here. This dish is only available on weekends so get it if you can! 10/10He kept saying "This is so good, one of the best meals we've had in a min!" I was surprised to hear that because these aren't Mexican dishes that he'd usually order. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed everything! Service was awesome, place is spacious and great for big parties, definitely worth the 40mins drive for us, and can't wait to come back. Included menu for y'all.Note: They're closed on Monday's.“
“They are very generous with the amount they give you which of course I appreciate.I always order the home wrecker bowl.my only problem is that the food just taste bland … no seasoning what so ever. Even the grilled onions and peppers taste like nothing.I would love to come back and support the business whenever they fix this problem.very nice area with amazing people“
“Sunday October 29th me my 2 brothers and sister in law went here after going to a fall fest and we were rlly rlly hungy so we went here ordered 6 soft supreme tacos 2 quesadillas (one chicken one steak) and 4 beef and cheese chalupa‘s and a Baja blast freeze and when we got it they got the Baja blast wrong and they made our food sweat with water that made it look like someone peed on it and we call yall and told yall and yall said yall would remake it and we forgot to go the next day so Wednesday night we call yall and asked if we could still get the food yall promised us and yall were rlly rlly nice and gave us the food and i love yall for that yall are the best ever“
“Our first time here, arrived just off of “peak”. Around 7:40 pm. Was seated timely, served chips & salsa, given menus, spoke with server, ordered drinks… all within 2 minutes of being seated. Nice menu, lots of options, some dishes I had not seen. The kids plates had a good selection even though not needed for our visit. Our order was taken, food delivered quickly. Our server was, friendly, helpful, attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is great. Clean floors. All employees were in a restaurant garment of so kind, (you didn’t have to guess who worked there). Nice place. We had mid priced entrees and added an appetizer our check was a little over $30 for two. Happy customer here.Parking: Lot is Shared with Dollar General, plenty of spaces. It could be lighted better.Kid-friendliness: We had no children in our party, but we seen the servers entertaining kids at other tables.“
“I love everything about this place!!! Where do I start?!! The steak quesadillas… the pork burritos… the beef cheek tacos!!! OMG so flavorful and delicious! They are open for the first time on a Tuesday bc of the holidays… so I’ll be there today for lunch!!!“
“Guess maybe they're trending more family friendly with bright lights and open seating. It's not for me. Bring back the old Ranchito before the remodel. I also can't breathe in there anymore, using that nasty fabuloso cleaner, *asthma*“
“Passing through and decided to give it a try. The staff was super friendly and the service was prompt. The restaurant itself was clean and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it. Anything on the menu would be good and there are plenty of choices.“
“Amazing food and service!! We can’t wait to return. My daughter is hard to please and said it was the best chicken quesadilla she’s ever had :) The salsa was my favorite! I’m picky when it comes to salsa and this was AMAZING! Thank you, Lorena, and the rest of the team here!“
