“Great mom and pop food place. Delicious, and hot every time. They are family owned and operated. Don't let the cars around it determine if you go in. Desserts are made daily. Southern style foods...fried green tomatoes, fried okra, burgers, chicken and fish. Service may be a little slow, but it's only because they are busy. Enjoy, on the square moments, with family or local friends.”

“Stumbled upon this place during the storms. Blues shack of your dreams. Food was great. They just served up what was cooking/good. The owner/ chef comes out and announces what is coming out next. Music was amazing. They got a dog that howls the blues. Service was great. Really fun. Easily worth the drive. Can’t wait to go back.”

“I’ve put off going here for a bit but a pass by it every other day and decided to finally try it. I don’t normally eat breakfast or drink coffee but I decided to try it on a whim. The atmosphere was nice. It’s really cozy and has the perfect vibes for a cafe. The staff was really nice and of course, the coffee was great. And that’s saying something considering the fact that I don’t even like coffee. I’ve never been a coffee drinker and I’ve even described myself as a coffee hater before ?. So it was really cool to find a cafe that has such great coffee that it makes someone who hates coffee almost chug down their drink. I got the cinnamon roll drink by the way. I also got a turkey sandwich (I can’t really remember which one) but it was good as well. It was honestly a great experience and it’s a great small business. I’ve never stepped foot into a Starbucks and now I can confidently say that I probably won’t ever as long as this cafe is an option to go to. 10 out of 10. I’ll definitely be back eventually.”

“I have not been able to stop by here until tonight, since the new owners took over. (Thank you for updating hours to include the evenings!) Tonight we had both the Fried Fish, Cajun Grilled Fish & the Rip Platter. It all was amazing & fresh!!! I will definitely be stopping by more often!”

“The Parish has become our favorite Hernando restaurant. The owner (who does not know us) is clearly an accomplished chef. I can’t brag about this place enough: The food is tremendous! The front of house manager, Barry, is nothing but first rate, could not be more accommodating, and is always very attentive to diners’ needs. Then, there’s the wait staff. We only know a few of them by name: Sarah, Caitlyn, Kelly…but they are likely the best servers in DeSoto County! If you haven’t been, we suggest you try the following: Crab-stuffed grouper, BBQ Shrimp, the boudin-stuffed pork chop - likely the best thing on the menu!, blackened grouper…The onion rings are the best we’ve ever had! Desert? Get that bread pudding! It is OMG good! I’ve never had a bad meal or bad service since they opened and we eat there almost every week.”

“I come from a town in Ohio where homemade ice cream is everywhere, and so so good, so my standards are high. I have lived in many other cities since then and had never found anything close, until we found Area 51! Honestly, the most delicious ice cream, unique flavors and made in house. What more could you ask for!”

“A small group of us were visiting the U.S. from Sunderland, in the North East of England, and were travelling from Memphis to New Orleans. As it does, hunger kicked in and were didn't have any idea where to eat. Would it be safe? or would it be good food? etc. We see all sorts on British television! 😂. We needn't have worried, other patrons spoke to us, after hearing our accents and were very friendly. Martha, one of the staff, took great care of us, explained everything and made us feel at home. I don't kniw if i'll ever be down that way again, but we only have good memories. Please pass on our best wishes to Martha and everyone else at the restaraunt.”

Since I have celiac's disease and other food sensitivities, it is hard to find a place where I can get a treat, and now they are serving more items, even frozen already prepared meals and desserts.
I tried the new oatmeal carmel cookie today, and it is so good that even my sister (who can have regular baked goods) loved it.”

“We went with friends last night for dinner. We were on the patio. We ordered a guacamole. It did not look fresh. Long story short we did not care for it. We asked our waitress if she could swap it out for a large cheese dip. The manager came out arguing with me and kept asking me why I didn’t like the guacamole. He wouldn’t stop asking. It was very unprofessional. He just wanted to let me know I was still going to pay for the guacamole. That’s fine but how he acted was sooooo unprofessional. We won’t be going back 🫠”

“1st visit on Valentines Day - awesome service, food and dessert too! The baked potato was amazing. Best potato I’ve had in awhile. Most are half done and dry, but this one was perfect!! Everyone working this evening were nice & kind, and kept the food coming in a very timely manner. We live around Batesville but will definitely be back ! We were very pleased with our selection of Delta Steakhouse.”
