Louise's Open Pit Barbeque is a locally owned old-school BBQ joint in Crystal Springs. The food is always great, with delicious ribs that are tender and full of flavor, and a sweet vinegar-based sauce. The pork steaks are a favorite, and the rib steak, salad, and onion rings are all cooked perfectly, with awesome rings and fresh, crispy lettuce. The BBQ chicken with beans is good, and the sausage is very good. Sides like Mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole, fried broccoli, potato salad, and baked beans are solid. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the service is on point, with wonderful people. The smell of BBQ fills the restaurant. Diners can get a huge plate of very good ribs or order to-go. The old pictures of Crystal Springs are especially enjoyable. This place is worth stopping by for good barbecue, but show up hungry.
