“I used to eat here with my parents over 40 years ago for special occasions. Next week will be my mom's 81st bday. I remembered that we had good memories there and invited her friends for a pre bday breakfast. It was such a peaceful atmosphere. We were greeted with such hospitality by every member of the staff. They treated my mom like royalty. Sat her at the head of the table, even sang to her. Then brought out a beautiful cake presentation to both our surprise. The food was AMAZING! The bathrooms were sparkling clean and smelled so fresh! Needless to say, new memories were made and will continue to be made! It truly superceded my expectations and I am truly thankful for everything!“

“Fred's Soul Food Restaurant is a true gem that embodies the heart of traditional Southern cuisine. This cozy, down-home eatery is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic soul food. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm atmosphere and the owner's welcoming smile, setting the tone for a delightful dining experience. The food is absolutely phenomenal, with a wide variety of options that cater to every taste. The full breakfast platter is a standout, featuring fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, cheese grits, and a perfectly cooked biscuit. The salmon croquettes and fried bologna sandwiches are also highly recommended, offering a nostalgic taste of home-cooked meals. The portions are generous, and the prices are incredibly reasonable, making it a great value for the quality and quantity of food you receive. What truly sets Fred's apart is its community-driven spirit. The staff knows many customers by name, and the friendly banter adds to the warm, family-like atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just visiting Jackson, Fred's Soul Food Restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking authentic, delicious, and comforting soul food. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this local treasure!“

“This place was so good we went twice in one weekend! The menu was very diverse and had plenty of options for everyone. The food was top tier! I particularly loved the pork chops (seasoned to perfection), the cheese grits, and the buttermilk pancakes. The service was great and there was no wait for Sunday brunch even though the place was busy. Highly recommend! 10/10“

“My oh my. What a treat! This was by far the best waffle house experience i have ever had in my entire life. From the second in walked in, I could just feel the joyful spirit of this waffle house! Now let me about Louis, greatest server in the continental united states! He's funny, he's quick to help, hes patient, he's the GOAT! He needs to become CFO asap. They even have an automatic water refiller by one of the tables. Someone get Louis a raise!“

“Let me just say that THIS Waffle House and THIS crew @10:30 am is the best experience I have had in yeeeeeears!! They are nice to each other first and then nice and accommodating to all of the guest. It was a gamble which location we would choose but so glad Sean , Kelsi, Nyookie, L , Nasser, Tekeria, have all really given us a good experience. I don’t take reviews lightly and I definitely don’t do a lot of typing.. genuinely impressed and thoroughly appreciated !! AND the food was superior .. 💪🏾💯“

“It’s not a Waffle House if the service is perfect. We had to wait on my order. And my dad’s wasn’t what he ordered. But the food was good and the restaurant was clean.“

“Good food and Good prices!“

“I went into Waffle House for a pick up order! There was only one waitress and the cook. She was so happy and seemed to be running the place nicely! The cook sang a lot of the time! He’s quite talented and it made the time in the store so enjoyable!“

“Ordered a 2 egg breakfast and they never made my order and I asked for a refund 3 times and each time they got sidetracked and never answered me. I expect either a refund or my food.

Update: I went back the next day and they made up for it. I was told they had a busy night.“
