Ellis Seafood Reviews
The food is so so good and fresh. My daughter drove us from Canton. I enjoyed the ride and the food. See y’all next week.
I just had the worst experience I’ve ever had at Ellis Seafood today on Meadowbrook. I ordered the shrimp and crab mixed boil, when I got home I only had shrimp. So I tried calling them 5 times and got a voice mail each time. When I returned to the restaurant, the lady at the window had a very nasty attitude and should be fired. I have two businesses of my own and would never treat my customers that way. I’m never going back and will certainly tell everyone I know to not do...read full review
Do not eat here !!!! I paid over twenty dollars for a “bundle “ that consisted of five shrimp and a crab cluster missing the little leg! I also paid over 20 for two plates that were advertised as 4.99 each. Over forty dollars for this crap.

Ellis Seafood, located in Jackson, is known for its Cajun boiled crawfish, which comes highly recommended during crawfish season. The crawfish are seasoned with a peppery, tangy, and spicy flavor that enhances the taste without overpowering it. Served in large portions, the dish comes with a piece of corn, a potato, and a sausage piece, although some may find the sides insufficient for the quantity of crawfish.
The fried food at Ellis Seafood is also popular. The fried items, including gumbo, have a good flavor, although some customers suggest that the vegetables in the gumbo could be cooked more thoroughly. The catfish platter, which includes two pieces of catfish, fried rice, fries, and a 12-piece gizzard, is a good deal for $18.00. However, some customers have reported that the fried gizzards may taste old, hard, and lack flavor, while the fries have no taste and are not salted. On the other hand, the shrimp fried rice and catfish are generally well-received.
The service at Ellis Seafood has received mixed reviews. While some staff members are reportedly friendly and helpful, others are described as slow-witted and demanding. Some customers have reported that the restaurant's drink options are limited, and they have been charged for water despite it being included in the meal. Overall, Ellis Seafood offers a variety of seafood options that customers can enjoy at reasonable prices.
