The people here are very nice and there is a great variety of food as well as fresh meats! I didn't try the taqueria but was very impressed by everything! I got some Tamarind Jarritos

It's a quaint place that makes you feel as if you've stepped in Mexico in Meridian..They have produce items as well as some grocery items and there are cute knick knacks all around..Way in the back is a little eaterie that has all all food Mexican at reasonable prices..so why the three.. Well, out of all the people that I tried to talk to.. Only one seemed to understand what I was saying..which was confusing to me..also they didn't have a to go menu so that you could order in..I guess maybe that will come later..Anyway these are just my thoughts.

The food at Don Cheques is so good. For those that have not been here you are missing the best Mexican food in Meridian. Everything we have tried here is fresh and delicious. The fajita burrito is my favorite! Try it you want be disappointed.

My husband and I came in for lunch the other day because I was desperately craving a torta de milanesa. I'm pregnant and it's all I could think about. While it's not an option on their menu, I noticed they do have milanesa so I asked to have a torta with milanesa. They happily accommodated my request (after some brief clarification that I actually wanted a sandwich lol) and IT WAS DELICIOUS. First of all, this was hands down the best milanesa de pollo that I have EVER had and I try it at almost every Mexican restaurant. Second, I don't know what magic bread they used but it was nicely toasted and just perfect. Add in lots of Mayo, lettuce, fresh avocado, and some of the house habanero hot sauce and I was in heaven. Also, the portion was huge. I was able to take half the sandwich home and have it for dinner. The only downside is that instead of satisfying the craving, it's ALL I can think about! I even leaned over to my husband in church today and whispered, "I can't focus because I cannot stop thinking about that torta." Thanks y'all for accommodating me. I will definitely be back to order the same thing very soon!
Used to go here all the time when I worked at peavey and it is hands down bar none the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. Get the chicken tacos with salsa verde and thank me later. The people that work here and run it are the kindest folks around.

The Don Cheques special is amazing, I had no idea that cacti was so delicious. The only thing I didn't care for was the chips. Everything else is wonderful. The service was great both times I've been recently. I loved the atmosphere. I will definitely be going back.
