The restaurant was packed when we arrived and my immediate thought was wow the food must be really good. Unfortunately that wasn't the case . Their specialties that day were the spaghetti and meatballs, well the meatballs were okay but the sauce not so much. Excellent tasting food ,I had the red beans and rice, and they definitely hit it out Da Park with it. Hamburger steak with mashed potatoes was delicious, too.Po-boys looked amazing , and I will definitely be back. Friendly atmosphere and service.

I had not been to J's in years and am so glad I went today! The gumbo was superb and the catfish platter was a delicious, abundant serving of American raised catfish, not the cheap swai from China that is often passed off as catfish. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Now that it's back on my radar, I'll be going to J's on a regular basis. Highly recommended!
