Restaurantji's guide to Missoula's top Mexican dining experiences.
“This place was amazing! I loved the pick 3 option, having the chalupa, enchilada and chimichanga. The chips were also awesome! The service was top notch as well, with even the owner coming by and asking us how we were doing. I could not recommend this place more.“
“My favorite place to eat in Missoula. It's not great decor, it's not Michelin star food. But it's authentic and you can always count on the food made home made style. It's a local place and nothing matters but the food. I'll eat great food on Styrofoam with plastic utensils any day when it is made by real people. You can tell they love to cook for people. And that's great.“
“I live on the far, far north side of Missoula so getting over here is a treat. Today when I walked in, they were slammed! But, the staff was so calm, professional, organized, friendly - I totally didn't mind the wait! our burritos were delish as always! Thanks guys! (time to open one on the North Side!)“
“The Food is amazing and authentic but the cooks don’t speak English and they hired a new girl that is terrible at her job and is miserable to deal with. I feel really bad for the owners of the truck because she is affecting their business heavily. Every time I go there another customer in line complains to me about her idk her name but she has red hair. Other wise full 5 Stars all the way around if it wasn’t for her.“
“Our first visit here and we were very impressed. We have a home in New Mexico and have enjoyed a lot of Mexican Tex/Mex food there. They place is on par with most anywhere we’ve ever been. Great food, margaritas and excellent service. The Mole enchiladas were delicious.“
“Four of us plus the granddaughter had supper here. The food is fantastic and the service was friendly. Very accommodating to our request for a table rather than a booth. Wonderful supper!Kid-friendliness: High chairs, kids menu and again, super helpful, friendly staff!“
“Taco Time impresses with its fresh, flavorful menu. The crispy tacos and zesty salsa stand out. Service is quick and friendly. While seating is limited and prices slightly high, the overall experience is delightful. A great choice for a tasty, quick Mexican meal. 4/5 stars.“
“I had a plater with and tamale, enchilada & taco. It came with side of rice and beans as expected. Plus I had a Frozen Mango Margarita! First that Margarita was the bomb, tasty & just yummy. The beans were so smooth and delicious but I can’t say enough about the Tamale. The corn meal was smooth and creamy and it was by far the best Tamale I’ve ever eaten anywhere in the USA (I travel a lot). Next time I go there I am getting some to take home. The chicken enchilada was delicious and what I really liked was the enchilada sauce wasn’t “all” over the whole plate, it was just enough sauce and the taco was tasty as well. The only thing wrong with my order was I originally ordered a chicken enchilada and a beef taco, but that wasn’t really a concern considering how delicious my whole plate was. The rice was good & just the right amount as well.“
“I’ve been going to Taco del Sol since 2009. Love the burritos, especially the 14” regular fish burrito with pinto, gorgonzola, cabbage, jalapeños, and the white sauce. It’s a great, local burrito joint with good food and a great vibe. That being said, you can tell that the post-pandemic changes in Missoula have impacted this place: reduced hours and price increases that, in my opinion, seem to have outpaced CPI (owing to labor shortage?) I hope people still get their burritos here and not from the national, corporate burrito chains that have arrived on reserve street. This place is wonderful, has a great menu, and always friendly people. I could eat here every day and would be super happy about it!“
“Swung in here for a working lunch. The gentlman training every one was super helpful and amazing cutomer service. As being some one in food serivce industry for 20 plus years. This guy deserves a raise! Hes a keeper. Food was excellent and extremely fast serivce. I highly recommend, 6 stars if I could.“
“Absolutely top notch place. Best most consistent tacos in town, and the employees are so so kind…I was having an unexpectedly tearful moment while they were makin up my tacos, when a song came on their radio that reminded me of my mom, who passed away on this day, some years ago— they gave me so much kindness, and even the tacos, on the house. <3 best place in the country“
“The margaritas are amazing!! The prickly pear is my favorite. The tacos are really good! $6-7 per taco.Tip: If you order the cochinita pibil taco, get the habanero salsa on the side. You’ll thank me later!Parking: Free on the weekends and after 5 pm.“
