“It was a great experience. They do allow smoking indoors but it’s part of the experience. I feel like the food that they have there is severely underrated. The tater tots I had were cooked to perfection. There are cats and dogs allowed inside. Excellent spot to watch the Montana grizzlies play football.“

“The steak was perfect. If you're kinda picky about food, order only the steak, which is probably what everyone else already knows. The appetizers were especially... uh, unenthusiastic. The service is kinda charming in a certain kind of way. I've been all over the world. I would say it's rare to see the theme going on here in most parts of this country. One star for that, lol, but this wouldn't prevent me from going back. No table clearing, no drink reordering, no plates brought out with the appetizer, no nothin lol. This is probably normal, unless it was special treatment for some probably obvious reason, but that's called being cynical. The people eating were chatty and normal, a happy vibe.If you're looking for a picky fine dining experience or a chipper and attentive wait staff then stay the hell out of here, which is probably what everyone else already knows. If not, order steak or some other type of grilled meat and keep your head down while the regulars go on about their business, good advice anywhere. Actually apparently the burgers are not bad either.Parking: Parking out front! No mountain view, just a highway view, which is old school.“

“Must Stop if You're Looking For A Real Montana Bar with Good Food and Drink. Luckily we came across this local watering hole on the trip to the National Bison Range. Ambiance: If you want a place that cowboys and tourists can mingle while taking in the real feel of the Big Sky then this is your stop. Customer Service: Granted the bar wasn't crowded when we arrived. Still, I feel the friendliness of the staff would pretty much ensure you won't have to wait to be seated, look at a menu or place an order. Feeling a bit on the rustic side we decided to grab a seat at the bar, which proved to be a good choice as I had the opportunity to meet the new owner, funny lady - good times. Bottomline, every staff and patron there was just good people, and welcoming to strangers (i.e. tourists). Chow: Based on limited choices and past reviews I decided on the burger, and dang glad I did. Not only was the patty properly seasoned and cooked but it was also stacked with fresh crisp veggies. If you're coming in from a day on the range I highly recommend a burger as ours were tasty, and very filling. The fries were also good but to be honest mine could've used a bit more cook time as I prefer them really crisp. Cleanliness: Everything was wiped down and the bathroom was clean. The place was actually cleaner than I expected considering it's a local bar that can get quite busy with townsfolk coming in for a cold drink - or as was the case this day, coming in from the cold. Overall: Can't help but love this place. The Montana feeling definitely comes through and the crew working the pub were not only welcoming but fun. The Branding Iron is one of those locations that tears at you when it comes to giving it a rating. All the food we had was good but not gourmet so I'll give it 4 Stars. Then again what can you expect from a small town however; the customer service, drinks and atmosphere make it more than just a food place so I think a 5 Star grade based on a "small town pub scale" would be more than worthy for the Branding Iron.“
