We enjoyed a delicious dinner and a beautiful view from a very special table according to the host seated us. Apparently, it was the table Mr. Charlie Russell (a famous local artist) chose whenever he ate at the restaurant. Our dinner started with bread and butter, and a delicious salad. Loved our one night stay at a cabin on Lake McDonald!! We were just steps from the lake! The front porch was nice to sit and enjoy nature. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was small but fine for our family of four.
Historic lodge that is just at the lakefront. Ample parking parking. A must visit when you are in Glacier NP.
The interior of the main lobby is very grand. It has a nice gift shop. It has a piano with a very interesting message place on top of it - I’ll leave it to you to discover what’s written!

Lake McDonald Lodge is a cozy and charming retreat right by the lake, offering clean and comfortable rooms with a touch of elegance. Guests can enjoy hearty meals like chicken Cordon Bleu croissant sandwich, lentil soup, and chef salad. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the food is very good, including trout and steak, with a variety of drinks available. The lodge also provides access to nearby activities, including trails and a small beach at Lake McDonald. Visitors can explore the area and dine at the nearby Jammer pizzeria. Whether relaxing by the fireplace or taking a boat tour on the lake, Lake McDonald Lodge offers a majestic and memorable experience.

Guests can spend time by the fire in the common area of the lodge, with a beverage from the lounge. The lodge also offers the famous red bus tours and boat tours of Lake McDonald, which are highly recommended. The rooms are older but comfortable, and guests can spend most of their time by the fireplace or outside exploring the park.
The lodge looks like a nice place to stay, but it's also worth stopping. There is a large camp store and plenty of parking, providing full access to the lakeshore. The stones that make up the lakebed of Lake McDonald look like jewels, with a vivid array of colors. The lodge is also the ideal place to turn around and go back along the Going-to-the-Sun Road if coming from St. Mary. Guests have enjoyed their cabins, which are quaint and comfortable, with fans to cool the rooms. The attentive and welcoming staff adds to the overall experience.
