The Buffalo Bar was fantastic. I visited this with a friend early in September on our last night in West Yellowstone. I wish we had found it earlier in our stay. We got to the Buffalo Bar around 6:00 or so in the evening and the place was packed. There was a line out the door with people waiting to be seated. However, the hostess did a fantastic job seating people and we were actually seated within about 15 minutes. We were asked if we wanted to share a table with other people and we said sure. Coming from Massachusetts; there are a couple restaurants in the area with family style seating where you may end up sitting next to people that you didn't know before you sat down. We ended up sitting with another couple and a woman and her mother. We all started talking and sharing our experiences with various tours and had a wonderful time with one another. We placed our orders and when the food arrived... OMG! it was fantastic. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and it was absolutely delicious. It was very tender and I was able to cut it with the side of my fork. The gravy that topped the pot roast and mashed potatoes rivaled my mother's...shhh. I don't remember what everyone else had, but I do remember that when the food came it got very quiet as everybody was busy eating their food. The service was great and as busy as it was our server stayed on top of our needs; checking with us periodically during our dinner. The atmosphere was lively and maybe a little louder than I would have preferred, but everybody was having a great time. This is where the locals tell you to grab an amazing burger. I've had the bison version on separate occasions. Latest was the West Tex and I took half of it and fries on the road home. Good selection of local brews, and fits right in with the western frontier ambiance you went all the way to West Yellowstone to find. Go between 2-3 pm on a weekday and you should be able to get a table, no wait.

The patio is where it's at! The guitarist was good and the food was excellent. I had an old fashioned to drink, brussel sprout chips and buffalo gorditas. This is the most flavor I've tasted in Montana yet!
Very nice atmosphere. My steak wrap was excellent. My husband's burger was good but his fries not done. Our waitress never checked on us.

Always have loved this place. Food is always incredible. Old faithful is amazing. So is the bison burger! Huck mule cocktail is 10/10. This is the only place we have dinner in town when we are here.
