“Great typical restaurant
Very good and plentiful.
The only downside is that we don't know the dishes and when you don't speak Spanish it's complicated.
Music a little loud but bearable
It sets the mood“

“I love the birria tacos, the best I've had on the beach.3 suggestions:I suggest cutting cilantro, we always have to ask for it to be brought separately, they put very little in the container. There are 2 times I go and there is no dessert, but that is not so important. And 3.- fans are needed.“

“Los meseros no atienden bien, supongo que están acostumbrados a atender a los clientes que se hospedan ahí de una forma como atienden en todos los “todo incluido” y generalmente esa forma no es muy buena! Así que la comida bien, lugar muy padre, pero atención mala.“

“Small seafood place.
Excellent atention.
The dishes are similar to those served in Sinaloa.
I ordered a large mixed ceviche.
Good portion. Everything is super fresh and the sauce is very good, very good.
I recommend them with 5 stars.“
“Really a great place to eat in Playa del Carmen, tremendously affordable prices, delicious and filling food. You shouldn't order two dishes, they are tremendous. I totally recommend it, it was our great discovery during our stay in Playa del Carmen.“

“Rave reviews so my wife and I decided to give it a try and our expectations were truly exceeded. From the outside ok but probably a restaurant we would have walked past if not looked up first in the internet. Great, very attentive service! We had a Pina as a cocktail to start with (great - with fresh grated coconut). Starters were Octopus Causa and Seafood Ceviche (we ordered two in fact ;-)) ... As a main Seafood Rice (truly amazing), we shared all ;-) - together with a good Sauvignon Blanc followed by another Pina and two desserts, Choclo Cake and a tart. Given the quality and quantity of the dishes, the bill was more than reasonable! We might be back next week :-) - well done - honestly deserves the rave reviews“

“Nice place! It really is cozy, the atmosphere is to be relaxed and enjoy a good wine with delicious sandwiches or pizza. Their wine offering is very extensive, it's a shame that no one came to suggest any of their great variety. My friend and I opted for a Mexican rosé wine; Vineyard plot in Rosa de Villa de Guadalupe: which turned out good; The Margherita pizza, burrata, Baja tacos and French fries were good. Free parking is available. The bathrooms are very clean and appreciated. The service is poor because there are only 2 girls: Ana and Yudi who are very friendly but with a busy place they can hardly give good attention to customers. Generally good. I'll be back!
Parking: Free parking next to the place.“

“Super recommended! Very delicious food, good atmosphere, fair price, excellent service and also honesty on the part of the staff. Yesterday I left my cell phone forgotten and today when I went to ask, they had it stored there and gave it to me. Thank you and much success!“

“When I tell you the service was stellar, the food is delectable, the atmosphere is like a movie, they’re so accommodating, and the bathrooms are so clean that you feel safe there. Like if something fell on the floor, it would be just fine.“

“This place is a 10/10 in every category you could think of. The food is phenomenal, the service is even better which is hard to imagine considering how good the food was. We will recommend this place to everyone who goes to to Playa Del Carmen for the rest of our lives. Thank you thank you thank you!“

“We have had breakfast at this elegant restaurant. The service is great and servers are attentive without being overbearing. Food is wonderful with fresh ingredients and lots of choice to suit any palate. Tasty smoothies and specialty coffees. There is an art gallery upstairs so you can browse while you wait for your food (which doesn't take long). Enjoy this lovely spot if you happen to be in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp into the restaurant from the parking lot and always someone at the door to greet you.“

“I decided to go alone in Playa del Carmen, and I went into this restaurant with the idea of having lunch near my hotel, and it turned out to be a big hit.
The iced cafe latte is very cold, and if you run out of guacamole and chips, they'll bring you a replacement.
The cochinita pibil was especially delicious, and I wanted to try other dishes, so I returned with my companion the next day.
The air conditioner may or may not be working, so you'll have to rely on luck.
There seems to be a problem with the Wi-Fi, so you may or may not be able to use your credit card, so we recommend bringing cash.“

“I came here with my boyfriend for a special dinner while traveling. This restaurant had just received a Michelin award so we were super excited to give it a try.
To get ahead of a big question, yes you can dine here even if you're not staying at the hotel but it's very annoying to make a reservation and requires a lot of weird hoop jumping.
It's also pretty much impossible to find costs online. I didn't see an itemized receipt but basically it's about $300 USD/$5KMXN a person, without drinks. We opted for a very very very nice bottle of wine which was another $300 USD.
If you can, come and do the wine pairing. We couldn't because of dietary limits which is why we opted for the bottle.
The food was really lovely. I've included pictures of some of the standout courses. They also did a wonderful job working around our allergies including my gluten free needs.
The service was incredible. The sommelier in particular was a real pleasure, and our servers were great as well. A wonderful staff across the board.
After dinner we had a cocktail at the connected cocktail bar and enjoyed the view from the veranda.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a special celebration dinner in Playa del Carmen.

“What a great little spot, nice to be away from the main tourist spots/traps on main strip. Fresh sealed juice, fresh food, one of the days I had the Tuesday weekly special of Posole. I’ve never been a fan of this dish in the U.S. but here it was a treat. Why of course made by a chef who lived and cooked in the states for decades. I certainly hope to return and highly recommend. I went twice and wasn’t disappointed.“

“Tacos and service were good. We had accederá tacos (steak). Parking on the street was easy. do note there were like 4 total taco stands and you only see the name of el compa from the inside (or side walk side). I’d go again when in the area. For 8 tacos and 3 drinks, we paid $295 pesos.“
“Just had a perfect visit here with some friends; 2nd time for that, too. Food and service was fresh, fast, & flavorful. Miguel, our host, Claudio, the chef, and Jannet took care of a lot of others, including us, fairly fast. Probably my favorite place to eat at The Fives of all 10 restaurants.“

“This restaurant is absolutely marvellous. The menu is comprised of authentic, delicious Mexican dishes and is very complete. The food itself is absolutely wonderful- we ordered the shrimp tacos “al pastor”, the chipotle fish and the Veracruz-style fish. The fish and meat dishes come with three garnishes of your choice which makes for a complete and balanced meal. The staff were also incredibly generous, with one waiter giving us courtesy churros during one visit for our customer loyalty. I 100% recommend this restaurant to everyone.“

“This Sonora location is right in the heart of Playa del Carmen, it has several tables inside and a few outside. The attention and service from the moment you enter is excellent, our waiters Beltrán and Yulian treated us very well, always attentive and very helpful. The food was excellent, good flavor and quantity. I recommend making a reservation on weekends, and any other day you can come without a problem.“

“We were ten people and of the ten most loved their food. Seven of us had the September special, Chile en Nogadas and they were excellant! I loved the decoration and the fact that the chile was very fresh. It could have had a tad more stuffing but great all the same. One friend had the octopus and was not thrilled but definitely enjoyed it. Another had the carne asada tacos. The ambiance and service was very nice. Good quality/ambiance/ price. Gracias“
“I haven't been to this restaurant in a while. I had never gone during the day. Is the most! I thought that during the day it wouldn't have the same impression and it looks beautiful and super illuminated. To begin with, the chairs are very comfortable, which means I can stay there for a long time. Very good service and incredible food. We ordered the filet mignon with risotto, the rib eye and some ravioli in the center. There was nothing left. The prices are fair. I hope they continue with that quality!!“

“We had the luck to stumble across this lovely place on our first night in Playa del Carmen. This was the only place that we found that served actual, real Mexican food that tastes as it should, compared to any other restaurant we dined in nearby that served food that is more to the taste of tourists from the US.
The food was delicious, the staff was extremely kind and we loved the live music as well. We went back there on our last night of our stay and we were not disappointed. This was the first place where I ordered coconut fried shrimps and they actually tasted like coconuts, which is I think due to the fact that they seemed to use freshly shredded coconut rather than one that has been pre-shredded and packed. The chilli poppers are a must-try, I could have eaten 10 of them and I had one of the best nachos of my life.
Even though our food arrived a bit late on our second visit there (the place was full), they compensated us with free mini fish tacos (mouthwateringly delicious, almost changed my mind about my order) and a shot of some sort of tequila based coctail with coffee. It was really delicious and our waiter, Jesus, was so kind and helpful. Thank you guys for an amazing dining experience, it was a great way to finish our honeymoon. ?“

“Time of visit: beginning of March 2024.In my search for a good pozole, I came across this pozoleria on 30th Avenue. Full hit!The pozole mix I chose, full of meat and vegetables, delicious, with all the necessary additions.Around me are locals who enjoy the food as much as I do.The price, a little higher, but okay.Ambiance for three, but you come here for the food.“
“Delicious street-style tacos — highly recommend the birria and arrachera tacos. The consommé that comes with the birria is savoury, not too spicy and not greasy. You can garnish your tacos with a range of toppings and sauces. The containers have a little label indicating how spicy a sauce is.“

“The service was amazing at this place, spoke English. The restaurant itself is small but like a “hole-in-the-wall”. The food was so good!
I had the avocado verde chilaquiles & my husband had the chorizo cheese omelette (came with black beans). Server brought out homemade tortilla chips and salsas to start for free.
We drank the strawberry smoothie & green bitter orange juices. Total for meal was $44 (800 pesos) which was the cheapest in playa del Carmen!“

“The best authentic Mexican food for prob the best price you’ll find in the area. I’ve tried a lot in the area from different price ranges and have to say this is cheap amazing food. They don’t speak English so you’ll just need to use an app to translate the menu. I just looked at what the locals were eating and got the same. This entire plate of Cochinita Pibil which is stewed pork, rice, potatoes, beans, plus a soup and drink that’s included is only 95 pesos. I tipped generously because of such good value. Eat here, get great value, support local small family owned restaurants, leave satisfied.

Live music, and super comfortable.
I definitely give them a 10 out of 10 and it is a must-see place if you live in Playa de Carmen.“

“Amazing tacos! The tempura chicken one was our favourite but the rest were as nice! Our least favourite was the pulled chicken so I would most probably get it replaced with a different one next time but we still enjoyed all of them!
The only annoying thing for us was the owner standing right next to us the whole time we were trying to pay putting pressure on us when we were looking for our walet and then counting the money - would be much nicer to leave the bill and come back afterwards but it’s a minor thing.“

Mil Gracias“

“Came across this place while walking the downtown shopping Quinta Avenida. It was a few steps down the side and was a bit more calm than the Señor Frogs etc.
Abrhm was very attentive with recommendations, ensured our table didn’t wobble, wiped extra water off the table while carrying drinks on his head….sometimes two!
It was a nice respite after a long day of vendors vying for your attention. Would recommend.“
“The truth in terms of cost/benefit is a super place. Ribs and roast chicken are the two main dishes, including rice, beans and tortillas in all orders. The place to eat there is small so takeout is the best option. They also have very rich tasting waters.“

“De cenote is fantastisch natuurlijk om daar te gaan dineren. De wijnselectie is fenomenaal alhoewel wat prijzig. “I got a torta to go, & it was so delicious (I almost forgot to take a pic, lol). The meat was very flavorful and not dry at all. “First and foremost the staff were really nice and attentive. Secondly the food was great. I had steak and it was full of flavour, as was the garlic mash, the Milanese chicken was great too (and massive).
