This place and the folks who run it are fantastic. I like to visit as often as possible for lunch, which is served each weekday and is donation based. The food is delicious, healthy and filling. There is almost always a meet and a veggi option for main dish, as well as several sides and deserts to chose from. The people are welcoming and friendly I would recommend this place to anyone interested or in need of a fantastic hot meal.

Stuck in the most frustrating catch 22 of my entire life, lost my housing and employment at the same time and along with it my tools, clothes, money, identification, and sentimental things were "legally stolen." I've went around the same circle a dozen times in the last week and the only place that had helped me is 12 baskets. Can't thank you guys enough, it's a blessing to eat a good hot meal atleast once a day

Okay, so this is not a normal cafe. This is one of those community initiatives where all the food is free, although you're encouraged to make a donation. The address is on Haywood, but the entrance is around the corner on State. It's under Firestorm Books (but at street level, because hills). It's only open for lunch, 11 am - 1 pm.
