Whenever we head to Asheville, Vortex is a must! Their donuts are the best I've ever had and it's a bonus that most are vegan. Everything is clearly labeled and the employees are very friendly and helpful.

This is my favorite spot for cake doughnuts in town. Asheville definitely has a great food scene and it’s nice to see this place exist within that!They have good coffee options as well in case you like to dunk your cake doughnuts like me!The location is fun since it’s walkable to everything else in the downtown scene. If you haven’t tried Vortex you should definitely give it a shot (and then multiple after that).

One of the best donuts I’ve had. The old fashioned is literally a top tier donut. The salted caramel was also amazing. Lots of seating available. Parking out front too. Lots of coffee and other drinks available. Definitely add to the list if you are visiting or want to try a new donut.

Very friendly staff and tasty doughnuts. There isn't a huge selection of doughnuts but they are all freshly made on site. I would recommend the blackberry cream cheese cake doughnut. It was very good and I have never had a doughnut like it. The doughnuts are definitely more expensive then the grocerystore though so plan to spent around $3 per.
I live in Cincinnati and we have plenty of good donut shops, but this place...wow. Only been twice b/c I don't make it to Asheville as often as I'd like but sure wish we had a Vortex Donut shop.....best donuts ever!!!!

We had the best service during our 2nd visit to Vortex Doughnuts. Our daughter is allergic to eggs so this is a rare experience for her to enjoy a doughnut. Everything about our experience was excellent. Incredible vegan doughnut choices.Dietary restrictions: Incredible for those with dairy and/or egg allergies or on a plant based diet. They also had gluten free options.

Heard a ton of hype about this place so we visited and was greatly disappointed. The latte only had one shot of espresso and was $1.50 for extra. Took the guy 10 minutes to make my drink, I ended up throwing it out. The donut had no flavor it tasted like they forgot the sugar in it. Shouldn’t have saved my money.

I came here because it is highly recommended and it is all over the Internet for one of the must try places in Ashville.With high hope walking in, atmosphere is excellent. Good job with all the open space decorations and art works on the wall. Service from the barista and cashier is excellent. Which is what you expect from a local cafe.Problem is their donuts. Why is it chewy. Is it because it is old or is it because some abnormal ingredients they use. They are big though.Next time I just get coffee or drinks. It taste so much better in a tall glass. But their donuts, I don't know. I just stick with regular donut shops. This is kinda overrated

I got one cake doughnut and one yeast doughnut, both vegan. The cake doughnut was delicious, 8/10, but the yeast doughnut was out of this world, 11/10!! AMAZING flavor and texture. I will be dreaming of these doughnuts !! Also staff were really nice.

This is a super pretty place and their donut collection looks amazing, I ended up having the espresso donut and it’s been a very long time I got to taste super fresh and yummy donuts, we go there regularly and the staff is super friendly. Worth a visit for their coffees

A cute shop with delicious donuts. Lots of vegan options which is always appreciated. I love the yeast apple fritters and the pumpkin yeast ones. Chewy and light, eating these donuts for breakfast definitely puts me in a good mood throughout the day :)) coffee is fantastic as well.
