I dropped by Waku Waku Eatery during our vacation in Asheville. I’m a native Japanese and can clearly tell you their food is REAL Japanese food! Not Americanized but authentic Japanese food that I used to eat at home when I was growing up. I got bento-box for myself and a $2 kid’s bento box (super reasonable!) for my son. My son kept saying ‘Oishi! (means yummy in Japanese)’ while he was eating it. I guarantee you will experience authentic and hearty Japanese food at Waku...read full review

This is by far my most favorite restaurant in Asheville! They serve truly authentic delicious Japanese food (pick-up only now.) I have never been disappointed by the food or the service!
