“Bullwinkels is a popular restaurant in the Beech Mountain community, known for its great food and amazing staff. The pizza is a highlight, being considered the best on the mountain. They also offer a variety of Italian dinners. The spicy pasta dish and shrimp scampi were enjoyed by customers. However, there was an issue with a drink order, as a requested "Dark and Stormy" was served as a "Myers and Sprite with a splash of coke". The fountain drinks were noted to have a hint of mildew. The restaurant could benefit from better stocking and staffing, but the server was friendly.“

The menu features a variety of options, including the popular barbecue sauce burger, which reviewers describe as "one of the best burgers" they've had, though it can be quite messy. The restaurant has a large, open space with an outdoor area that's enjoyable when the weather is agreeable. While the prices may be higher than expected, particularly for a counter-service establishment, the food is generally praised as good quality. The menu includes burgers, flatbreads, wings, and a kid's portion of chicken tenders. Overall, Mile High Tavern appears to be a convenient and enjoyable dining option for those visiting the Beech Mountain area.“
