This place is great! I hadn't been to a German restaurant in a very long time. Our server was attentive, making sure our drinks were refilled. The potato pancakes were an excellent choice for an appetizer and the schnitzel sandwich was delicious. If I lived in this area, I'd be here regularly. The front of the restaurant is very "diner"-ish but once you get further back into it, the seating is more desirable as is the atmosphere. They have outdoor seating as well for folks who have pets with them. Very nice place and looking forward to a return visit when I am in the area again.

I was not impressed with any of the food. The meatball appetizer tastes straight out of the freezer and warmed up. Place needs someone to come in and revamp it.

Black Mountain is a beautiful town. Berliner Kindl is a natural for the pseudo Alpine environment. Satisfying German food and drink fit the situation to fuel and celebrate hiking, shopping, and all other recreation and work.

I had the special, the alpine, Swiss cheese sauce over a schnitzel. Delicious and the sides were as good as the meal! The cabbage, pot. Salad and the pasta was super good

Portions are ridiculously small for schnitzel. Never seen one so tiny. The veal schnitzel was TOUGH.Highly expensive, not worth the price.The disappointment when we got home and opened our food package was felt by all of us who ordered.Anything taste fine when your hungry after a hike........Do better...

What a gem of a restaurant to have found in Black Mountain! The authentic German & Bavarian style food was EXACTLY what my wife and I were searching for on this trip. The Schnitzel, Smoked Bratwurst, Saurkraut, Fried Potatoes, German Potato Salad, and Spätzle were all to die for. This food transported us right back into our trip to Europe, eating food just like this throughout Germany & Austria. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!We took an Apple Strudel to go because the food was so filling, but their dessert options were so enticing. Please visit this cozy, tasty place during your next visit to the area.

I seriously do not understand the few bad reviews. Delicious German food. Absolutely amazing jaegerschnitzel and rotkhol and sauerkraut and spaetzle. The sausages are amazing. The service was great. German desserts were delicious!
