This legendary local dessert shop is actually named for the 11th century Icelandic monarch Ragnald Bluecone, the so called "Dairy King", who is credited in the old Icelandic sagas with combining sheep's milk and honey and then freezing it in the famous glacier Eyjafjallajokull, thus inventing ice cream. Go. Get a dipped soft serve and pay your respects to Ragnald Bluecone, Dairy King. Cash only.
If you like an old fashioned dairy stand built in like 1950, with soft serve, you will love it! The only caveat is- you never know when they will be open. Literally, there's a sign on the building that says that pretty much. Still try to go every time we're in BMT!
