Awesome place. Traveling through and stopped for dinner and drinks. The server was very helpful when I had questions about gluten free options, which they had several things to offer. I had the buffalo chicken salad sweet potato fries and the spinach and artichoke dip. Food came fast and was very tasty and wholesome for bar food. They had an excellent cider on draft and a gluten free beer in a bottle. My husband loved the house ale. Great music and very cool atmosphere.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options. Gluten free beer.Kid-friendliness: Several kids and families here enjoying dinner.

Our go to spot for sports in Boone! Where do I even begin to describe the exceptional service provided by Jess, the superstar bartender? From the moment you step in, Jess's warm greeting and infectious energy set the tone for a great experience. Not only does Jess possess an impressive knowledge of mixology, effortlessly crafting the perfect drinks tailored to each customer's preferences, but her passion for creating a welcoming environment truly shines through. Whether you're a die-hard sports fan or just looking for a great time, Jess ensures that every patron feels like a VIP. Her attention to detail, and enthusiasm keep us coming back. Cheers to Jess!

The bar tender cussed me out and said many slurs because I didn’t tip enough, this is unacceptable and should be intolerable. I’ve never been to a college bar where they car so much about tips, and I’ve never been called “white trash” for not tipping enough, will not be going back and I will be talking to management.

The ale house chicken sandwich is one of the best I’ve had in a while. Would definitely recommend. Service was great too. (Lots of parking as well)

Extremely disappointed that I didn't take a picture of my food, it looked so good it was gone in seconds. If you're here for drinks, they've got you covered. More of an atmosphere kinda person? Well they've got live music and friendly people. But I came for the food. Best burger I've had in North Carolina. Hands. Down. Not hungry? Too bad, get the onion rings and thank me later.

I had a great time eating, drinking, and doing comedy as part of the Pub & Grub Comedy Tour from Bar Comedy USA last night at Rivers Street. The chicken gyro was outstanding. Even better I lucked into it at happy hour prices! There is a definite college vibe to the place as Boone is a college town. But head on down as there is something for everyone. I will be back as that part of North Carolina is beautiful and a stop will certainly be made at Rivers Street Ale House!

Discovered this place in the spring of 2023 through a suggestion of coworker. This restaurant/ale house is located in the heart of the Appalachian State University campus. Very popular with the locals and a good place to watch an App State game, or many other sports, on one of the dozens of large flat screens or projectors. The food is excellent and fresh... The best of which is the Philly steak sandwich, which I eat all the way, with juicy sliced steak, cheese, peppers, onions mushrooms and jalapenos. Of the 7 times I've had it, it's always been consistently top notch. Nothing I've had here was bad. Awesome place to grab a bite and watch a game. Drop by and eat here, if you're in the area. You won't regret it.

I would like to start off and say that my boyfriend did not want me to write this review but after what he told me, I had to. A month or two ago, my boyfriend went out to go get some drinks. He wanted to go because it was 80's night and he loves that era of music. What happened that night was nothing short of evil. After having a few drinks he was picked up by a bouncer with long black hair and overalls and was aggressively escorted out of the bar. The worst part was my boyfriend left his keys in the bar and found out that the bouncer that carried him out of the bar threw them in the dumpster. It has cost over $500 and over a month to replace his car keys, house keys, and all of his other things. Idk if everyone that works there is like that, but I hope that they are nothing like him

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve been going to the bars in Boone for three years and this bar is the worst one in Boone, sadly. The bouncers are always rude, racist, misogynistic, and condescending. The food is good, go during the day. But if you go at night be prepared to meet the worst people. And it always smells like throw up. There is so much potential but the bouncers definitely need to learn people skills if they want people to actually go in.
