Captain Nance's Seafood Reviews
Fresh seafood, non greasy, great flavor. The staff is nice and service is fast. Will definitely return for great seafood.
Lady at register very rude!
Ate lunch there yesterday. Ordered broiled flounder. Was terrible as well as the baked potato and slaw. Puppies were good. Flounder had no taste and had something all over it, maybe butter. The potato was yellow too like it was reheated. The slaw was not good. I’ve been here several times and it was always good. Not this time. My friend ordered fried shrimp and flounder. Captain Nance's Seafood in Calabash offers great food and hospitality. The delicious hush puppies make up for any minor issues. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff is friendly. The fried seafood combo with shrimp and clam strips is delicious and served super fast. The senior plate is enough for lunch the next day, and the seafood pot is certainly worth the price. Lightly battered and fried shrimp, flounder, and deviled crab are fresh and tasty. The cole slaw is slightly sweet with crisp cabbage, and the green beans are like Grandma's. Portion sizes are generous, especially the hush puppies at the start. It's a great lunch spot with a beautiful waterfront view, where guests can watch boats go by from the patio. The restaurant is close to the dock where shrimp boats, fishing boats, and touring barges tie up. The senior portions are still large, with fresh fried shrimp, oysters, and flounder with cole slaw and hush puppies with honey butter. The server is helpful and knowledgeable, and the outdoor area is pleasant with a covered pergola. The broiled sea bass is cooked just right, making for a delicious meal.
