Captain Nance's Seafood in Calabash offers great food and hospitality. Despite some minor issues like greasy scallops and bone-filled sea trout, the delicious hush puppies make up for it. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff is friendly. The fried seafood combo with shrimp and clam strips comes out super fast and is delicious. The senior plate is enough for lunch the next day, and the seafood pot is certainly worth the price. Lightly battered and fried shrimp, flounder, and deviled crab are fresh and tasty. The cole slaw is slightly sweet with crisp cabbage, and the green beans are like Grandma’s. Portion sizes are generous, especially the hush puppies at the start. A great lunch spot with a beautiful waterfront view, where guests can watch boats go by from the patio. A must to try when in Calabash or nearby.
