“6-17-23Small Mexican food mart that also twins as a restaurant. Has two interior tables for dining in. Interior is well maintained.Came for the tacos. They have typical meat choices topped with onions and cilantro. Corn tortillas. I sampled carnitas, pastor, and birria. My favorite is the pastor, but all are a reorder. All tacos come with lime slices and green and red salsa should you need that.Also tried their horchata, and this was among the best I can remember having. Do you like horchata? You will love it here.Staff were friendly, food came out quick, and we left fat and happy.Parking: Gravel lot. Plenty.”

“This is the cutest little place! We went in for lunch and had great bbq chicken, slaw, and potato salad. It was delicious! We’re headed back Sunday morning for breakfast. It’s everything you hope for in a local restaurant. The service was great, too!Did I mention the free basket of hush puppies and dessert? We were all full and happy when we left. “Yesterday my grandmother and I went out to eat here with my 7 month old son. My grandmother was having health issues and was unresponsive our server was quick to grab my son take him behind the counter and play with him until EMS came. I thank her so much because I was able to give my grandmother the attention she needed to keep her alive without having to worry about my son. I can't thank this place enough also the fried chick was amazing.”

“I love the food here. I used to eat here almost everyday when I lived in Mount Olive. The staff are great, most of them have been there for years. I know they had to close the bar down during COVID but I look forward to when they will be able to reopen it. A margarita is the only thing missing when you eat here. I stop by Maya and visit with Mr.Freddy and the staff anytime I am in town. I would recommend them to anyone passing through, it’s well worth the stop.”

“We were in Mount Olive, NC, for a softball tournament and wanted to find a sit-down restaurant. We found El Mazatlan and fell in love. The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was so patient. He had a very calm demeanor and answered all questions with a smile. The portions were out of this world! We all have leftovers that are enough for a nice meal.”

“A small, well-stocked grocery store. I found everything except liquor, or alcohol. But from tortillas to eggs, milk, sausages and cooking spices. Money transfers are made by western and money gram.”

“Friendly staff but like any other gas station, prices are jacked up. Food is good, but you can go to a legit restaurant for the price it would cost you here. Wait time isn't long. Maybe 10 at the most from order placement to out the door. They could use a little better of a system, like a line starts here rope, or order at the pizza counter and pick up at the deli. Instead of everything happening at the same spot at the same time for everyone. Overall, not a bad spot. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is pricing.”
