“Sat on the patio and had a wood fired margarita pizza with pepperoni and a glass of white wine. The atmosphere was high glass inside and out and the service was good. This is part of a complex of three restaurants, hotel and spa. We only had time for lunch but would like to have toured the rest. Highly recommended when you’re in Highlands, NC.“

“We had a wonderful time hosting a wedding rehearsal dinner for our son and his bride at Happs Place. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the menu options perfect for the event. The service was efficient, polite, and on-time. We also had an afternoon lunch in the back where there is a putting green and other activities outside the bar. Dereck and his team are real pros. This place is a treasure and highly recommended.“

The extensive menu covers more than just pizza pies but includes grinders and the half expected calzone. Even a bit for the kids in tow. I have put off my review because I wanted multiple experiences with this establishment and they did not disappoint me or my family. Staff had knowledge of the menu and made excellent recommendations on every visit. We always found the place clean and tidy even with a busy lunch crowd. The food is wonderful. Nothing pretentious but dishes for the proletariat and the discerning alike. Prepared well and served neat. All the flavors we experienced were, quite frankly, welcomed and savored. Highlands Pizza Place is worth the altitude sickness and the drive from most places. I wish them continued success.PS-My child now wants pages from coloring books wherever he goes and the Mrs loves her HPP night shirt. “It's sort of surprising that the best breakfast restaurant I have ever been to is actually a grocery store in Highlands, NC. Seriously, the French toast is 2 inches thick and served with real maple syrup. This is a legitimate breakfast. Also, the pizza here is better than the "fancy" pizza restaurant down the street. Also, great grocery store.“
