Dogwood Southern Table & Bar

I came to Charlotte to celebrate world vitiligo day and stopped by the bar with friends. Alexus was our bartender and despite being busy she truly took the time to make sure we were taken care of and had amazing drinks!

​The restaurant has a very nice ambiance, although the music was quite loud, and a welcoming host, but unfortunately, the rest of the experience fell short. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. I had the pasta, which was quite dry, and my husband ordered the burger, which was fairly mediocre.

​Service was where things really struggled. Our waiter made us feel like an inconvenience rather than guests. After a 30-minute wait, our food was dropped off by another runner. Moments later, our actual server walked up, snatched my husband’s plate without a single word, and disappeared. It wasn't until I managed to flag him down a few minutes later that he explained the kitchen had accidentally added bacon and was remaking it. We appreciated them correcting their mistake, but that information should be provided upon removal of the item. It took another 10 minutes for the correct burger to arrive. Between that and having to ask for water refills, the service was severely lacking.

Convenient to the Convention Center. They graciously accommodated our grouo for a drop in reception. The wait staff and bartenders were top notch and friendly and the appetizers delicious.

Great food. It’s in a hotel. I didn’t realize so it took me a second to find it. But really good.

I’m here for the Lowe’s summit and stopped in for a quick drink. I was swiftly greeted by Alexus. She was very engaging (i loved her smile and Good attitude) and knew her stuff! I had a “Kitty hawk” and i will definitely recommend this place to all of my friends and family when they visit the city.

My colleagues and I were in Charlotte attending the HPX Expo and spent several evenings at the bar inside The Westin Charlotte. What started as a convenient place to unwind quickly became one of the highlights of our trip.

The level of hospitality from the entire team was exceptional. A special thank you to Alexus, Anna, Kandence, Oscar, Diego, Mikey, and especially Sav, whose leadership and presence helped create such a welcoming atmosphere. Every member of the team made us feel like valued guests rather than just another group passing through.

Whether it was remembering our favorite drinks, sharing recommendations, engaging in great conversation, or simply greeting us with a smile after a long day at the expo, the staff consistently went above and beyond. Their professionalism, positive attitudes, and genuine care for their guests made all the difference.

In an industry where great service can be hard to find, this team sets the standard. The bar had a fantastic atmosphere, excellent drinks, and a staff that truly enjoys what they do—and it shows.

Thank you all for making our HPX Expo experience even more memorable. We look forward to returning to Charlotte next year and visiting again. Highly recommended!

Server was great, we had the shrimp amd grits and the duck and dumplings. Both were very delicious! They had an event happening at the same time we were there for dinner so it was very loud with echoes. Parking is expensive!

We sat at the bar and had Alexus as our bartender. She was amazing and made the entire experience incredible! Her foo and drink recommendations were spot on. I even switched up my regular “go to” drink order based on her recommendation and was not disappointed! I’d go back just for her service!

Laura was our server tonight and she was great. She was polite, friendly, helpful and everything you could hope for in server. She made our experience at Dogwood fantastic. Come here, sit in her section, and have a great time!

My friend and I were catching up after not seeing each other for quite some time, and Laura made our experience at Dogwood so enjoyable. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful throughout the meal. It’s rare to come across service that genuinely adds to the moment, but Laura absolutely did. We left feeling very well taken care of. Thank you for making our visit special!

I was in town for a friend’s wedding and the restaurant was busy, so the host kindly walked me to the bar. Alexis took great care of my friends and I even thought the bar was packed and crowded. Her drinks and food reccomendations were great and she even recommended some after hours bars when they closed and didn’t make us feel rush. We would definitely come back if we are in Charlotte again!
