Hate to be a hater, but I’ve been here twice and both times underwhelmed. A single turkey sandwich and a SMALL drip coffee should not be $20 in Charlotte. Also, the place needs a good deep cleaning.

Poppy’s used to be a great place to get the best bagel. I can’t give them my blessing anymore after how much their pricing has gone through the ROOF! I understand that pricing has gone up everywhere, but they’re just being greedy. You’re talking $15 - $20 for a bagel.

The food here used to be good. The service is horrible. How are you a bagel shop and not have anymore bagels by 11am?? This would never happen in

Poppy’s has the best bagels in Charlotte by far. Only reason I can’t give 5 stars is they are terrible at getting online orders right. I’m always short a bagel or the wrong cream cheese or something. It’s almost impressive how consistently off they are lol. Amazing bagels but triple check your order if you do online

I was very excited to try this place as there are no good bagels near Lake Norman. I was very disappointed today. I asked for my bagel to be double toasted and I don’t think it even went into a toaster. It was not toasted. In fact, it wasn’t even warm, how hard is it to toast a bagel so that it’s a bit crunchy?. I ordered mine with butter and cream cheese and lox. I wasn’t disappointed with the amount of lox. In fact, I don’t like it to be overwhelming (I think 2 slices is perfect) but I certainly did not expect this bagel sandwich to be $18! Way overrated and way overpriced! I grew up eating good bagels in Atlanta. These are too fat and breast for my liking. Bagels should not be this fluffy and should have big holes in them that catch the butter and the cream cheese. They should also be chewy inside. It’s a hard NO for me.

The bagels are delicious which is the only reason I keep coming back here. The staff is horrible at this location. Next time I’ll have to drive all the way to south end because they are attentive. I walked in and stood in line for 10 minutes, only one other person with me in line before being acknowledged by staff. They were standing around eating their own bagels and chatting, and taking care of mobile orders but not paying any attention to physical customers in the store. Then waited 30 minutes for 2 bagels. Ridiculous.

The bagels were hard and the breakfast sandwich I ended up having to throw away because it was so bad. I kept trying to fix it so I would waste my money but I ended up throwing it away. It tasted really bad. These bagel were all stale and extremely hard to chew. The croissants was mediocre as well. I was very disappointed.

I agree with everyone who has said that these are the best bagels in Charlotte. As a former New Yorker myself, I know a good bagel. While the interesting flavors they offer at Panera and those other chains are... interesting... the stuff they have here at Poppy's is the real deal. Everything, Sesame, Pumpernickel, all the classic flavored bagels and they're all large and fresh and fluffy with the great chewy and crunchy bagel texture that they are supposed to have.Tip: spend an extra buck and get the salmon spread on your toasted bagel. It's probably not the sort of place where you sit around all day, like a Starbucks or Panera, but it's nice for a quiet coffee (good coffee, by the way!) and a friendly meet with your buddies. In the nicer weather, sit outside in the sun.Parking: Not the largest parking lot but it works.

I previously had a pretty good experience and suggested to my co-workers we go here. Google says they are open til 2. We walked in at 1:28 we were debating what to order and the menu rotates making it difficult to read and decide. I went to order at 1:30 and there really was a very cold/dissmissive/ response “the kitchen is closed.” No further guidance offered. Maybe I’m sensitive because the level of stress in my week, my authentic response really shut down and struggle and the sensation of tears. She continued to look down/away …My co-workers found they could order off the cold sandwich menu. After receiving our food we were asked to move outside so they could clean inside and put up the chairs. I inquired that google said they close at 2… their response was it would 2 in just a few minutes. Felt very unwelcome and inconvenienced to their team and business. Which was a shame because it seemed a few other teams were pretty delightful. I hope the team member having a tough day- that their day gets better.

Ordered a bagel with lox cream cheese and was told it was $10. Told cashier i didnt want the actual fish/lox, just the flavored cream cheese, and she still said it was $10 which is absurdly expensive. Was too busy to consult a manager so just walked out.

The huevos rancheros breakfast wrap was the blandest wrap I’ve ever had, shocking for something that has salsa, cheese, sour cream and peppers and onions on it. The only flavor was unseasoned egg.The hungry man wrap was the second blandest wrap I've ever had. Again, the only flavor was unseasoned egg. Couldn't even taste the sausage or home fries. The latke was the best thing we had, and it tasted like old fryer oil.
