Ive eaten at several soul food spots in clt, and this is one of my tops picks, the food is always really good, from the university location to the one in plaza midwood, I am a frequent customer, 5 starsParking: there were plenty of place to parkKid-friendliness: there is a nice amount of seating in university
Very clean place, food is good - other items are a "Solid Thumbs Up". Had the Beef Tip over Rice with Mash & Gr. Beans (very good). Fried chicken is cooked to order (some places just will have it sitting under the heat lamp). Great place for quick easy grab and go. Service is great, very friendly - Mamacita is doing her thing. Give Soul Central a try!

I liked the food better when they were at the older location. I got the pork chop plate with collard greens and cornbread. The cornbread was cold and the greens tasted funny but the pork chops and tea were good.
