“Came in for the first time while visiting the area, and it was delicious. The waitress knew the menu well, and made recommendations. Chicken sandwich and fries all great but the "Spoonbread" was out of this world!! Do yourself a favor and order it. Will definitely be back again when I visit.“
“Mert's was packed when we went there, as was to be expected when there was a huge conference in town. They were worth the wait! The food was great and the service was spectacular! Our server, DeAndre, was so friendly and attentive. He has a huge personality and is a real credit to the restaurant. The only thing we didn't care for was their process when waiting for a table. They should have buzzers or take your phone number. Unfortunately, you have to sit outside in the order you arrived and keep moving up until it's your turn. Amazingly, the hostess kept up with everyone, but it could be an easier process. However, this will not stop us from going back! Next time we're in the Queen City, we will be at Mert's!“
“I've never had a bad meal at the Flying Biscuit. We normally go to the Park Rd location but came to this location for the first time. Where there would normally be a long wait on the weekends, we got in right away because we were willing to sit at the bar. The food was prepared quickly but was still fresh and hot. I love that they offer so many non-pork options. In fact, besides bacon, they don't serve potk but they offer turkey bacon, chicken sausage and this time I tried chicken chorizo. Their grits are always creamy, the biscuits are always fluffy. I often have their biscuits and gravy because it's made with chicken sausage and its amazing and you can't find that anywhere else but the grits bowl with chicken chorizo was amazing and I'll have that again as well. You just can't go wrong.I only gave 4 stars for service because our server was nice but it was hard to get her attention and ultimately it took awhile for us to get our bill.Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for non pork esters“

“This place was literally finger lickin good. We couldn't decide on what to eat. Then we saw this place and looked at the menu and went inside on a hunch. I'm so glad we trusted the hunch! The BBQ chicken was delicious! The sauce was thick and the chicken was juicy! The coleslaw was a bit watery but definitely delicious! The Mac n cheese was cheesy and crispy on the top. But the friend chicken...let me tell you. This fried chicken, was the best, fried chicken, I've had in so long! It was nice and crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside! You can't find that just anywhere. The potato salad was lacking but I was too focused on the chicken to care. The staff were friendly and quick with greeting. They were also very helpful with answering questions and even let the woman behind me sample a piece when she wasn't sure! I cannot boast enough about this place. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back when traveling through Charlotte.“
“My very first time here and OH MY GOODNESS...it will not be my last! Where do I start? I was part of a large group (17 people!), and we were all seated in about 15 minutes. To our delight, there was a DJ playing today! Our 2 servers were absolutely awesome. They were fast, friendly, and accommodating. Even with a large party, our food came out in a timely manner. I had the wings and the red velvet waffle. Delicious! Delightful! It was such a wonderful dining experience for this first-time visitor. Everything was done in excellence. If it couldn't get any better, as we were preparing to leave, the owner came out and greeted us! He was so kind and gracious. Prices are very reasonable. We drove up from South Carolina to visit, and it didn't disappoint! I will tell others to drive up and dine well, too.“
“Second time coming here and the food was amazing! The honey hot chicken sandwich was delicious and filling. You get a big piece of meat so I could barely finish 1/2. I also got the shrimp and chicken Alfredo. That was super delicious as well! The portion was huge so you definitely get your moneys worth and can share it. Service was nice, the owner is super cool. The staff is friendly and kind, and always greats us with smiles. Food trucks tend to move a little bit slower, so make sure you prepare for a reasonable wait.“
“These rolls are amazing served up by the nicest people! Smiles everywhere! The soul roll with the hot honey sauce is a perfect vegetarian choice. The collards are even made with vegetable stock. “Freshwaters is a great place to eat!? This delightful little family owned restaurant is tucked away in a cozy spot in uptown Charlotte. The atmosphere is a combination of classy and inviting. It's a great place to take the family for a great home-cooked meal or a perfectly fine option for a couple on a romantic date. The staff was outstanding! They were one of the friendliest and most helpful I've seen. The food was delicious and fresh. I tried several different dishes. Most were a pleasure to the palate. Some were not to my personal preference but received rave reviews from others in my party. All agreed that the cornbread muffins were a highlight. My personal favorite was the backend salmon. I look forward to trying more of the menu. As Freshwaters is definitely a new must goto restaurant, in my opinion.“

“I just walked in after a doctor's appointment because I was hungry. Let me tell you how AMAZING the customer service is (I haven't even eaten the food yet lol). The worker was by herself and was an amazing host. She helped me order from the menu as this is my first time visiting. She was so polite to a little child who accidentally spilled his juice. She immediately went to help the family clean up the spill and said "it's ok, I have uh-oh's sometimes too" with a smile on her face. Then she came back behind the counter to finish taking my order and apologized for my wait. She greeted every guest with a smile as they came in. She was very warm and welcoming. Stop by and experience it for yourself.UPDATE: The fries and wings taste GREAT!!! The only thing I would change is ask for them to be fried extra crispy next time.“
“This is a lil bar that's in the cut off of Wilkerson Blvd. On Sundays they have .75 wings and they serve Sunday Dinner. If you follow their IG page they usually post the Sunday menu. I went this past Sunday and when I saw the menu I was a little disappointed because it wasn't something I really wanted. They had fried chicken, pork chops and country steak. So I went with the country steak. Let me tell you, I'm not a big red meat eater, I do eat it from time to time but this was the best steak I've had in a long time. They serve it over a bed of rice with gravy and it was so tender you could cut it with a fork. You also get 3 sides, I went with the cabbage, yams and Mac & cheese. Everything was delicious. They also got the Sunday ticket because they had 3 different games on that weren't on regular TV. They had quite a few Cowboys fans in there in their Jerseys on. Not sure if this is a cowboys bar or not but like I said they can show other games also with is a thumbs up for me and they had $2 bud and bud light.“

The service is always amazing and I was the only one there!I wanted the meatloaf, Mac and cheese and green beans and my hubby wanted fried chicken wings, okra, and mac and cheese! EVERYTHING WAS BEYOND AMAZING!!! The chicken wings were cooked to order and it was soooooo good, I'm surprised he shared a wing with me! Even the cornbread tastes like cake! The ambiance was fine, music from the 2000s were playing so I happily waited!Every time we come, it's great comfort food and honestly the best around! “Great food. The jurk wings are very tender yet crispy and grilled but yes always really well marinated. I real liked the wings. We also got a curry chicken. It was also very good. “Lord. Where do I start? I noticed that there was a bit of a wait for certain menu items so I ordered the items that could be made the quickest. I had the Soul Leg along with three cakes - red velvet, yellow cake with chocolate icing and pound cake. Every single item was delicious. This is what I want when I’m craving soul food. The collard greens were seasoned to perfection and had very little stems. The mac and cheese was flavorful, rich and cheesy. The dressing wasn’t overly seasoned with sage (like other dressings I’ve had) and it was moist but not too runny or dry. It appeared that the sides were sprinkled with a sweet drizzle. The turkey leg tasted as though it was marinated, smoked then baked. It was incredibly tasty and tender. I think it’s probably the best smoked turkey leg I’ve ever eaten. I’m incredibly picky when it comes to soul food but this food checked all of my boxes. I visit Charlotte bi-monthly and this place has officially become my favorite soul food stop. “Had lunch and it was some of the best food I have eaten out in a while! I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken wings were flavorful and delicious and had me wanting more!! I had raspberry lemon drop drink that may be my new favorite drink! Wait staff was kind and courteous and eager to please! We will be back with friends!!“
