We rented our Innovation Cullowhee to host welcome drinks for our wedding. Booking everything was super easy and the Innovation crew were incredible in getting details and setting up things. This is an awesome location with lots of games, great drinks, and super helpful staff. I'd also say don't sleep on the homemade ginger beer!

What a difference the beer style can make. I've always said that brewery reviews are tough because beer is a matter of taste. One person's favorite all-time beer is another person's cow piss. Last night I hit Innovation in Sylva. Nothing wrong with the location, atmosphere, or service, but yikes, the beers. I've never walked away from that much liquid, ever. I only chose from the "hoppy" section of the menu. I didn't like any of them. They were all light, barely any body, and in most cases, downright undrinkable...to me. I wanted to have a look around Cullowhee, and Innovation had opened a spot near (on) campus. This time I decided to head over to the dark side. The Black Balsam Porter was on special, so, I went for a taste. It's solid. It's got a slight bitterness on the backend, but the rich maltiness more than makes up for it. Honestly, it's almost rich enough to qualify as a stout. Service was super-friendly, the spot is small inside but they use the space well with a decent size bar, picnic tables, some high tops, and still some room for a foosball table. I sat outside on an awesome fall day. Parking challenges aside (and it's a serious challenge, although there is a small pay lot across the street), this is a great spot for a beer when visiting campus.

Awesome little tap room on campus at Western Carolina University. They also have my favorite tea, Infruition Tea. It's a great local non-alcoholic option packed with caffeine and deliciousness.

We stopped in to check it out on the weekend we were moving my son into his dorm. It's an awesome place that has captured the atmosphere of the campus very well. We had a couple samples and spoke to the young lady who was bartending - sorry, but I forget her name. But, she was wonderful and knew a lot about the different beers offered by Innovation. I look forward to visiting them again next time I'm in town!
