Okay so first. I loved the energy that this resultant gave. It was a nice vibe. The food was great. I got the Beyu breakfast with home fries and scrambled eggs and white bread. I also had the Mexican coffee which was so good! The server was nice and everyone had positive energy. Loved this place

The food is great most of the time and i like the music selection. However, this last visit is not sitting well with me since someone decided to type in the wrong numbers and overcharge me. It should have been the total that I wrote on the receipt and Nothing more. Check behind these entries for tips on cards. I don't want this happening to anyone else. And there were several couples who came in as I was almost finished, and they should've gotten acknowledged. I left out and they were still standing there waiting. And with it not being busy with plenty of open tables, and staff around, that shouldn't have been the case. You guys have a nice spot, just get it together a bit and it can be really great.

Thank goodness we just had coffee. We watched multiple customers walk out the door when no one could be bothered to greet or seat them. Even seated customers got up and left without ever ordering. Our coffee was good however.

Let me preface this by saying this was highly anticipated spot for me. New to downtown Durham and couldn't wait to try this establishment with a friend that was in town visiting. We arrived at 1:30ish. Our server greeted us and we didn't catch her name initially because the music was too loud. (The music's volume kept going from acceptable to way too loud to where you could barely here someone across from you). I asked our server for two waters with lemon. She came back about 10 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order. My friend and I ordered our food and an orange juice. I then reminded her about the water. She came close to us a third time but actually gave the waters to an older couple sitting next to us. That couple ended up leaving without ordering because they were out of chicken breasts and the gentleman wanted a chicken sandwich. At that point, I asked our server a third time for two waters. She proceeded to offer us the two waters that were sitting on the table next to us that belonged to the older couple. She said "they weren't touched". We politely declined and asked for two new waters. Who does that??!! When our food did arrive, my friend had ordered an omelette and her choice of side had been grits. She was given an omelette with potatoes. I had to flag our waiter down to bring her the grits. One of the reasons why we chose this establishment, was because of the mimosas that are on the menu on the website. However, we were told that they no longer serve mimosas because they don't have an alcohol permit that is current. Although the food was good, I'm not sure that I would return. We also had to ask for silverware after our food arrived. Which that enough itself is not a problem, but with everything else that had already happened, it was a bit annoying. When our check was brought to us, it was just left at the table. We were not given directions that we needed to pay upfront so we waited. And waited. Food was a four. Service was a two.

Stopped in for breakfast on our way through town. What was supposed to be a quick stop turned into almost an hour due to the wait and we never actually ended up eating. My iced coffee order originally came out hot and when I received a “new” coffee it tasted as though someone had just dumped the hot coffee in ice and gave me a watered down mess. I asked for a new coffee which I never ended up receiving after another 20 minute wait when we finally decided to leave.

The staff were friendly and attentive enough. I wish I could comment about the food but had to leave before it was served. It took over 40 minutes to get 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast. Still no idea how long it would have taken. The cafe wasn't even busy.

First time inside of Beyu, and it did not disappoint. I've been to the Boxyard locations plenty of times when I used to work for Boxyard, but I had never been to this location. It's so cute on the inside and the food is really good. I ordered the meat lovers omelet with the caramello. The caramello is my favorite drink at Beyu, it's my go to and it's full on caramel! My server was really nice. I even brought a book to read because it was so peaceful in there. Can't wait to go back!

Don’t eat at this cafe, wait to long and others their before you ordered before I did. They just missed out on a generous tipper.

Poor experience. Never even had a chance to eat. Mostly two-top tables so we waited for about 40 minutes but few were getting food very quickly. Eventually they told us — after we had to inquire — that they were now on an additional 30 minute wait to allow the kitchen to catch up. So, not staffed or managed very well. Won’t be giving them another chance

We stoped through on the way back home. We had read the review and appeared a place to try. We were disappointed with the poor customer experience and others who arrived after us the waiter took their order and we set the for almost 30 mins. Waiter missed out on a generous tip. I’ll never go there again and wouldn’t recommend them.

We're from out of town but was recommended to eat here. Very disappointed with the wait after others arrive their order taken before us. Waitress just missed out on a generous tipper. Don't eat at cafe.
