I went for my birthday celebration on a Friday night. We were greeted gracefully and we had a blast. Boxcar owes us

Fun place. A good place for family to be and enjoy bar style food.

Decent bar and arcade machines. The staff need to chill out.The bar staff are aggressive, security is TSA level to get inside and everyone is treating their job way too seriously.Especially the announcement loudly for all kids to leave at 8pm. That was a vibe.

I had a great experience at the Boxcar Bar and Arcade. I have the flatbread hot honey pepperoni pizza and it was really delicious, I have never quite had pizza that tasted like that. They serve drinks at the bar also. They have over 20 pinball machines and a large handful of other retro style arcade games. They also have other games that you would commonly find in a arcade, basketball, Skiball, shooting games, and DDR are some of the games that you will find at this location.Kid-friendliness: Games and arcade

Came out for my birthday with my hubs and kids. Had a fantastic time. I was worried about bringing them to a bar setting but the establishment did a great job defining when we needed to go. And because it was a little earlier it wasn’t as busy and it really just was a great time.

It seemed like an awesome place. Great atmosphere. Very pleasant staff. Wasn't actually able to go in; my 88 year old grandmother didn't have her ID, and we were denied. Seems unreasonable, but rules are apparently rules.

One of my top day drinking spots in Durham. They have every arcade game you can think of, but my favorites are the classics (Mortal Kombat, Donkey Kong) and pinball. The patio is arguably the best in town and their pizza is AMAZING.

This business says they support local artists of color, specifically queer and trans artists of color. Instead, they take advantage of these artists, steal their ideas, and then outsource talent to out-of-town white artists who are both vastly under qualified and woefully inexperienced, which SHOWS. Shame on Boxcar for advertising Durham drag (and we have LOTS of great talent here!) and instead bringing in busted clowns.

I usually always come here as a fun spot to play arcade games by myself or with friends. However, this particular Sunday I came to box car to play pin ball and eat pizza before my hour drive back home. There was a man with red hair behind the bar. He had it in bun with shaved sides and he also had a lot of acne. He was putting the champagne bottles away and also poured himself a glass of juice . I was waiting for someone to approach me for an order. Then I just asked if he could helped me. He told me he wasn’t a bartender ( he had a horrible attitude ) . I told him I’m sorry I didn’t know nor could I tell the difference between him and the bartenders because he was behind the bar(wearing a boxcar hoodie) . I decided to walk out because I’ve never had someone be so rude to me at boxcar. He didn’t have to be rude towards me. It really made feel uncomfortable especially because I came there on my own. It’s usually a safe space for women and queer folk… this just wasn’t it

Went in the afternoon. Very fun environment to hangout and get drinks while playing some classic arcade games. I will say the arcade selection is a bit limited, but I appreciated that the staff did not push customers to buy drinks like other barcades. Was a nice mix of people drinking and people just there for the games.

While visiting Raleigh/Durham, we stopped here for a late dinner and some fun! Pizza and Pretzel was pretty good! Drinks were strong! Games were busy but most worked as they should! We had a blast either way! Great for date night!

Really cool arcade. There are tons of games to play. Indoor and outdoor seating. Dull bar with big selection of draft on tap. They offer pizza, a few salads, and a variety of pretzels.

I go in to have some drinks with my sister after visiting my mom in the hospital. After having two drinks and walking around, the security guard stops us, and talks to us for about 15 minutes. My sister walks off with her boyfriend and after talking to security for a while, I go to find her, eat some pizza and go to the bar for another drink. Well now ONE drink, the same I had ordered previously, cost almost the same as the TWO I had when I walked in. I ask the bartender very kindly why was there a difference in price. The bartender NATE was very hostile, insinuating that I’m drunk, and I don’t know what I’m ordering. I never go out, and the one time I do after almost experiencing the loss of my mother, I’m met with hostility. It really killed the mood for me. I even tried asking if there was any miscommunication when I ordered the first time, as it was my first time out to a bar. I do however, appreciate the other staff who listened to my concerns, and handled the situation with professionalism
