From the moment I walked in, the turkey sandwich and cider to the coffee and brownie (with ice cream), my experience was phenomenal. The food, atmosphere and staff were awesome!

This is a perfect restaurant To Me for these reasons:
- the food is wonderful and there is a seasonal menu and/or specials every time I go
- food options for most dietary restrictions
- the drinks are delightful, the pours are generous, and the bartenders are talented, kind, and easy to talk to.
- really solid bar selection including lesser-known wines and aperitifs.
- location!!
I <3 GSG!

Exceptionally mid food. $18 for a small burger with hardly any taste. Girlfriend has never complained about food out before but turkey sandwich was equally bad. The salad is just the same lettuce from the burger with a side of dressing.
Very disappointing from such a longtime Durham restaurant.

Good lunch spot for standard food. Expect staples and some good local beers without many frills.

Great food and drinks! Everyone was so nice and made us feel right at home. Hush puppies were yummy and the draft list was great.

The first time I went there the food was pretty good and the staff seemed nice , second time my experience was completely different. It felt like they where way under staffed and stressed and took it out on there customers. Me and my friend are both 21 year old girls who are chill and not high maintenance at all , it took a while for us to get our food 1 , witch was fine because we where chilling and just yapping, but as soon as we got it it felt like we where being rushed out because they where busy. The food was not as good as I remembered, it was greasy and tasted rushed , we even witnessed them kicking a group of two out of a table when they just got there food cuz they “ didn’t realize another group who had just walked in made a reservation “ whitch I think is rude . They seemed very unorganized , like the two men working there had bad communication. Then to top it off my friend and I get yelled at after we payed the check left a tip and walked out the door . Apparently the worker man who took my $100 I gave him to pay my $44 bill didn’t inform the other guy of him doing so . So when I got my change back and left a tip in the book , he assumed we were short on the check and were walking out without fully paying . In this situation he could have just asked his coworker if we payed or not but he didn’t. He proceeded to approach my friend and I very aggressively and accuse us of something we didn’t do , and when he realized he was wrong we got no apology.
Long story short I nor my friend will be eating there agin .

This place is a must. The apps and the drinks are delicious and the service is fantastic. We sat at the bar and truly enjoyed our time. The location is great if you want to bounce around to a few places too. I will be coming back.

My partner and I have been to Geer Street garden 5-6 times, and each time I try to avoid writing this review. The atmosphere is great, they have a phenomenal outdoor patio. The food, while bar food, is reasonably priced and doesn’t disappoint. However, the service is god awful. The service staff doesn’t care if you wait 15 minutes for your table. They are happy to leave you waiting to pay your check for 20-30 minutes at a time. We love their drink menu, but on nights where we’re looking to have more than one, the staff is nowhere to be found. The restaurant has so much potential, but is sadly ruined by inattentive staff.

Amazing fish tacos and beautiful outdoor patio area! I also appreciate the gluten free bread option for sandwiches.

We love this place. Tonight we had an excellent meal, always an interesting mix of options, and the service was exceptional, starting with a friendly employee who came over just to see our dog. (I love that we can bring her!) Everyone was do genuine and helpful. A Durham classic with the best spinach salad!
