Ajja is the first to fall into this category – from Ambience, Staff, and Culinary Creations – the restaurant has now raised the bar, challenging local restaurants to really push the envelope. Over the past 20 years, I have traveled to more than 68 countries, 33 states, and six continents. Often, the restaurants that truly rank higher are those you least expect. Restaurants that are set in more "local" areas, peculiar places, or just not in the typical outside setting that you would think when thinking of 5-star or Michelin-level culinary experiences. Ajja is nestled in the heart of the Five Points residential area, across the street from old-style craftsman homes. Walking up to the restaurant it presents an inviting local vibe, welcoming friends, family, and couples to come together in an environment where you feel free to talk, laugh, and enjoy the company you're with. The service was on point. The waitress brought excitement, personality, positive energy, and knowledge that allowed us to enjoy the overall experience with our family truly. “We booked Neomonde to cater our wedding reception. From the very beginning, Neomonde made us feel welcome and valued. Saida was generous during the initial meeting and let us try many different options for food. We especially loved the Pomegranate Salad, Chicken Kabobs, and Mjadarah. At times, it was difficult to get in contact with the catering team, and there were some miscommunications during the contract process on what was included and what was not included. We were originally under the impression that plates, dinnerware, napkins, drinks, and cups would all be provided by Neomonde, but this was missed during the contract process. This resulted in a surprise during our wedding reception when our day-of-coordinator realized we didn’t have dinner plates or dinnerware. Neomonde was very adaptable though, and sent someone to bring plates and dinnerware immediately. Neomonde ended up bringing a third team member free of charge, but we didn’t have enough tips for a third server, and would have liked to know beforehand. The service through the entire wedding reception was stellar, and everyone thought the food was delicious! Our drinks were kept stocked throughout the whole event, cake was cut and served efficiently, and tables were cleared and taken care of. They boxed up all of the remaining food for our friends and family to take home, and cleaned the kitchen. We love Neomonde, and were ultimately very happy with the food!“

“A little piece of Europe in the center of Raleigh. Beautifully decorated with a Sunday Brunch that cater to any group. I noticed a party on the patio that had a spacious area for their guests. A number of different seating areas can give you the exact experience you will want to repeat. Service was a bit slower than usual but the food is great! Bring your friends or family and enjoy a unique experience.“

“Food was good, although temperature was a bit too cold. They were closing in a half hour and didn't have gyro on roller. Gyro was already cut they weren't keeping it hot enough within the steam table.....thus loosing a star. Baklava was good but used to be better. It used to be my favorite baklava anywhere. I believe they used to get it from Chapel Hill if I remember correctly. Been hitting both Hillsborough locations for many years when in Raleigh.“

“We catered three dinners for a group of about 70 and chose this restaurant specifically because part of our group required halal food. Overall, the food was a hit — the salads were generous and delicious, the hummus and tzatziki were enjoyable, and the pita, rice, and cookies were all well portioned. The one area we'd love to see improvement is the protein portions. Every dinner was a bit light on protein for a group our size. After the first night we called to request more and they brought it promptly, which we appreciated — though we were charged for the addition. Before our next delivery, someone did reach out by email to ask if I wanted to increase my order, which was a nice touch. However, the whole order didn't need to be increased — everything else was sufficient — it was really just the protein that needed adjusting, so I didn't respond. Unfortunately the protein portions remained the same for the remaining dinners. On one occasion we also ordered mixed chicken and steak kabobs and received quite a bit more chicken than steak. When I reached out, I was told people generally eat more chicken — but with a mixed order for a large group, we expected a more even balance. The food itself is really good and the staff was responsive. We just hope to see the protein portions better matched to group size in the future.“

“I usually don’t eat out on weekdays, but today I had a LONG ONE and needed something quick and nourishing. Luckily, they were about to close and cooked me a delicious vegetarian meal of freshly fried falafel with yummy hot fries. “Had a great experience at GRK Yeero! My sister and I stopped by around 3am, and we were honestly surprised they were open, but we’re so glad they were. The food was super fresh and incredibly flavorful. The steak and chicken kebabs were amazing, and the veggie sampler did not disappoint. Their Greek salad was fantastic, and the tabbouleh was incredible!

The woman working there was so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
