Uncover Gibsonville's Mexican dining scene with Restaurantji's insights.
“Fry me over the moon front & center and 3 tacos to follow, all amazing! Margaritas to the side already being enjoyed, a staple for your Mission experience! A wall full of flavors. Enough about the food and bevs, the *real superstars* are in the kitchen, behind the bar or greeting you with a smile! Jeff the curator/owner of The Mission and his crew ... no one can compare! Always great vibes, art, lights and atmosphere... just make getting to The Mission your mission.“
“Went here for the first time two nights ago. AMAZING!!! Met Fernando, the owner. What an amazing guy. Very welcoming and generous. Food was some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Salsa was on point. Place was super clean. I can’t believe that I haven’t been sooner. Can’t wait to go back. Very affordable too! Keep up tbe great work Fernando and see you next time!“
“This little gem doesn't miss when I need my Mexican fix! The food and drinks keep the place packed. The staff is friendly and take care of you. The complimentary chips and salsa are brought to the table almost immediately after you're seated. One of my favorite salsas! The food is served hot and usually doesn't take too long. The serving sizes are pretty big for a great price. The place is decorated in vibrantly! It's loud and lively! It has a nice bar with a TV.“
“Everything is supperrrr good I wish they gave 4 for the queso Birra that’s what I always get. Service is only a 4 because honestly I ate so fast she didnt have to serve me ? food is like 13-14$ without a tip for queso Birra but that’s what I’ve spent at every restaurant for “
“I was looking for a "good" taco truck and woooooooooo! did I find it. Look no further than the Happy Tacos for great food and friendly fast service. Food is seasoned to perfection. Veggies are fresh and crisp. The sauces are DIVINE. I was surprised by how reasonable the prices are. I will definitely be back. Adding The Happy Tacos to my weekly rotation. You only live once, TREAT YOURSELF TO SOME TACOS!“
“I don’t normally leave reviews but after multiple excellent experiences at Wholly Guacomole, I refuse to no longer sit idly by as people ignorantly go about their lives without ever experiencing the greatness of Wholly Guacomole. The greatness starts at the front door and with all the friendly staff. I along with my family have laughed and enjoyed good food at every visit. The authentic, amazing, and tasty food along with countless memories and good times, easily earns wholly Guacomole a 5 star review. I couldn’t recommend this place any more. My go to order is Guacomole to start and the hibachi. Absolutely incredible.“
“Delicious ice cream, popsicles, milkshakes and more. We tried guanabana (soursop), tres leches, strawberry, mazapan (peanut butter deliciousness), and chocolate. They have so many exciting flavors!! Try a new flavor or choose an old favorite. The service was amazing and you can order in Spanish or in English. I'd highly recommend this shop for your next tasty treat!“
“Tried for the first time today and we LOVED it! Clean place, sanitary, friendly staff! They were very careful about my husband gluten allergy! The shrimp tacos are the BEST I’ve had and the chorizo bowl was amazing! Way more food than we could eat at once and best Hispanic cuisine we have had in a long time!! Try it!!! It’s not just burritos!“
“Delicious! The menu is in Spanish, the clientele are Hispanic (except for the occasional crazy white dude), the staff are Hispanic... You're in the right place. ?My entire party (of 3) enjoyed the food very much. Be brave; get the menudo.Parking: Tiny parking lot behind the building. You might want to back into a spot if it's not too crowded, since backing out later might be more of a challenge.“
“The food was really good, the rice was well cooked, beans were a little salty, but it was really good when paired with the tacos. (I don't eat allot of salt, so could've just been me) The music was good, I was jamming, sort of a language barrier, but everything we ordered came out correct with no problems.“
“Don’t let the parking lot, age of the building or the traffic control one way street and median stop you from trying this Tex-Mex place. It’s one of the last that still use real rice and no gimmicks to make it look like you’re getting more than you really are. Food is excellent. Service is excellent. There is a separate bar room to the right and the restaurant to the left with outdoor dining area if you like that. Standard seating in dining room. My guess is they are old enough to have low overhead and that is reflected in the prices. It doesn’t sit on a picturesque hill and it’s not in a large shopping center. It’s on the corner of a very busy one way street and missing the turn in is easy. If you do, just take the next two rights and you’ll come to the back and right side of the restaurant where there is a wide turn in. Parking lot has lots of patches and divots. If you don’t see lines just line up with the other cars who have been patrons for years. They know where the lines used to be.Parking: It’s not the kindest parking lot with lots of patches and loose gravel and uneven pavement, but there is plenty of parking. The street in front is a one way street so if you miss the turn in take the next two rights and it brings you to the back and side with wide entrances. Long time patrons just know how to park there and create the rows themselves.“
“The food is good, and service was ok. I enjoyed my fajita texano plate, and the sweet tea was good. I had to ask for A refill and only got the one. The atmosphere is A little chaotic with regulars coming in the door and hollering at other regulars I guess. Try it and you may like it, but there are honestly better Mexican restaurants than this one, in my opinion. But I would go again if someone wanted to“
“Love this place ..a little peace of Mexico right next door..home made everything.the owner and his family are the nicest people and if like Traditional Mexican food you will love this food truck..I have never had a bad experience..If you have never had traditional Mexican corn try one don't forget to put some lime on it. You're welcome“
“Never go here! The manager and staff are beyond rude. We visited here last night for my brother’s birthday dinner with a party of 6 people. To start things off we arrive and put our name on the list after being told it would be a 50 minute wait. We were very understanding being that it was a Friday night. We asked to wait in our car since it was such a long wait and there were a lot of customers. The host said only if we could park right out front (there wasn’t any parking right out front due to how busy they were). She offered some wooden chairs which I said no that we would sit on the bench with some cushioning. It was right behind a short wall divider which separated us from the host stand. After waiting an hour with no end in sight I went to the host stand to just let her know where we were sitting because I was afraid she couldn’t see us. I looked on the seating arrangement chart and where I noticed her write my name before, was blank. She had erased our name thinking we left. She went into panic mode to find us some seating. We finally were seated after an hour and fifteen minutes. The waitress took our drink order and brought chips. We got our drinks and let her know the other two guests in the group would be arriving soon. We ended up giving her our order which did arrive quickly and fresh thank goodness. But one member of our party received his with a very long hair in his food. We told our waitress and she said okay and walked away. She spoke very little English so I don’t think she even understood what we said. About ten minutes later the bartender came over to our booth and asked what was wrong. We told him and he said okay and walked away. The guest never got to eat his meal because it was in his first bite that he pulled this giant hair from his mouth. No one ever offered to bring him a fresh meal or offered any solution to the problem. We only got one refill during our entire three hour eventful night which we had to ask for to begin with. When it was time to pay the waitress couldn’t get our tickets correct and had the wrong things on each others tickets. They also tried to charge him for his meal. When the wife of said guest talked to the waitress she stated that she wouldn’t be paying for the meal because her husband didn’t even get to eat it due to the hair in his first bite. She walked away. Then the bartender came back over and asked what was going on. We told him that she didn’t want to pay because of the hair in the food and no one brought him a fresh meal. They got very upset with us and finally brought the manager over. She was extremely rude from the minute she arrived. She rolled her eyes and thought we were lying and told us she has cameras. We told her to run them and watch the husband pull the hair from his mouth. She went back and forth with us for over 15 minutes before finally coming up to the wife with a new ticket where she removed the meal. When we went to pay everyone gave us awful looks and they were cussing about us behind the register. Needless to say NEVER GO HERE!!!!!“
“We didn't eat there but took carry out. The food was very delicious and, even in the carry out container, looked appealing. As I waited a few minutes for the order to be brought out, the dining area was clean and inviting. Conversations were buzzing and the staff were very attentive and friendly in serving the patrons. This was our first time, but won't be our last.“
“Great service, clean restaurant and the food was wonderful as always!Came to update my review to say the vegetarian selection is so good! It’s nice to have vegetarian meals that don’t have soy but are packed with a variety of vegetables. I got the vegetarian fajitas and the vegetarian ACP and I’ve had enough food for 4 meals. As a busy mom it was nice to find food packed with flavor and nutrients that I can pick up on the run.“
“This taco truck is, by far, the best one we have found around the Triad area (previously lived in Winston & Greensboro). The flavor and toppings are very authentic, the meat amount is nice and hefty, the homemade hot sauces are addictive and, to top it off, the owners are some of the nicest folks I have met. I think they know my order by heart by now ?. 100% recommend this place!“
“I had breakfast at this restaurant the staff are absolutely awesome from the door to the table you wait to be sorted and are immediately greeted at the door and taken to a comfortable booth drink ordered quickly taken. I had this huge cheese and onion omelette with home fries I’m sorry I didn’t immediately take a picture the food was sooo good . I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture before i ate the omelette was so big I took some homeParking: Plenty of spaceKid-friendliness: Very kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is huge with a slop for wheelchairs“
“I’ve loved GOBO since day one but I’ve only ever gone to the Salisbury location until today. I happened to be in the area and live on the northern side of Greensboro. The food is amazing as ALWAYS! The bartender - Nigeria - is officially one of my favorite bartenders! She’s extremely nice, hospitable, and always checking to see if you need anything. Also, they’re drinks are cheap! My draft beer was $3+tax. I got a small margarita as well, and my total with tax was only $7.48. If you don’t go there to eat, at least check out the food!“
“Salsa bar! This second taco shop :)Ceviche is not best had lots of onion and tomatoes and a bold vinegar tasteTostada was staleCarne asada tacos were over doneCabeza de res had More fatI wish the other place was open I love their food Bette“
“Meeting up with friends as they recommended and we love Mexican food! The server was attentive and very helpful! The food was really wonderful and filling. My daughter ordered the ground beef quesadilla which came with Bean dip chip & rice. I ordered the steak fajitas nachos. My hubby really enjoyed his dish selection as well! Definitely recommend.“
“Love the way the store is set up! Very kind and patient staff. There was a language barrier but the two women were so kind, helpful & patient to ensure that my order was correct. I apologized so many times but the women said it’s okay and not to worry. Food was amazing and fresh very authentic. We’ll be back! Thank u guys so much.“
“The food was good. Definitely get your money's worth. The service was not so good. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. The atmosphere was ok. Some of the tables are a little too close together. I would probably go back again if I have time to wait.“
“Absolutely delicious. This is officially my favorite Mexican restaurant and for a decent price near Burlington. We used to go to San Marcos, but it's seemed to go downhill getting cheaper and charging more. This place gave us a great mix of food for the price, not just a bunch of vegetables. This will definitely be my go to place for Mexican food.“
