We were passing through this little town and find the Black Dog Bar and Grill. TVs everywhere, a little dark but hey, it's a bar. We liked all the sports flags but missed Iowa and Iowa State.... Our food was great, we shared the nachos and our friends had the burger. Nothing was left, it was all tasty. Our waitress was attentive and Johnny on the spot.
Randomly stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon while cruising through town on our yearly vaccination to the cabin... The place didn't look open. Boy were we wrong. The place was packed. We found 2 seats up at the bar and made friends. The bartender was great... She knows how to pour a drink. There were TVs and sports memorabilia everywhere. The burger was great. My wife's Reuben was good. So glad we're stopped in. The owner even pulled up a bar stool and shot the breeze with us.

Ate lunch here today after playing tourist in our area. The nachos were in the biggest bowl I have ever seen, and my very picky spouse absolutely raved about them. My burger was perfect. We laughed when we walked in because we too have a big black lab and it made us miss him . Our server was prompt, all staff was friendly, and we will definitely be back!
