First off the food here is absolutely amazing. The mussels in white wine sauce are to die for we get them everytime we come. The wraps are amazing too you can’t go wrong with them. My girlfriend always gets the tuna or the cauliflower pizza is great. overall the food is unbeatable for the area. TJ IS THE BEST DANG SERVER HERE IF YOU COME ASK FOR TJ (you rock tj if you’re reading this). we’ve been coming here for over 6 years now and it’s an awesome place!!

Ordered the prime rib dip- asked for no lettuce and tomato and extra horse radish on the sandwich and on side.Got home and the sandwich had lettuce tomato, and was absolutely dry and tasteless because it was missing the sauce… (Receipt said horseradish on there)Due to how far we live from location and inability to reach them on the phone, we ordered again on Friday. My husband decided he would let them know this time around about the issue with the sandwich 3 days ago. The first thing the manager said to him is “I’m guessing you want me to comp your food, don’t you”Then proceeded to say right after “I’m not going to”That’s not actually the point- people appreciate kindness, or any effort at making something semi-right. He said if it was chicken nachos and we got beef, he would understand.He didn’t seem to comprehend that part didn’t matter - there was no apology or semblance of “sorry”. He got defensive and was awful.We paid for the food on Tuesday and hoped we would get it how we ordered it - but did not- and were hoping to just get some type of decent customer service response to our comment.Instead had an exchange today with one of the most inconsiderate and rude managers.That manager doesn’t care- and clearly Backstreets doesn’t either.

Past experiences were always positive, but tonight the prime rib dip was one of the worst I have had. The whiskey sour was nasty.
A wonderful local restaurant with a separate bar area which does interfere with the restaurant.Backstreets has a unique comfortable vibe. Appropriate for all ..from a nice quiet dinner to meetings, after work get togethers, date nights, and celebrations. The atmosphere can't be beaten at this gem of a place. The staff are quick to greet patrons with a pleasant fun attitude. As for the food that Backstreets serves, well...let's see... browse the delicious specials and homemade soups on the chalk board in the lobby as you wait to be seated. The delicate tuna appetizer is a delight, but for the hungry who like to share an app, the ultimate nachos are a real crowd pleaser, ask for some guac too! Backstreets steaks are cooked perfectly, and their baked potatoes have wonderful salted skins which are served fresh and loaded. The 'big salads' are always fresh and crunchy and make a more than satisfying meal with steak, tuna or chicken. The hearty wraps and sandwiches are delicious change from the typical run of the mill sandwiches. Last, but definitely not least, the Backstreets 'signature' chicken salad surprise is always a real treat, served in a bread bowl, topped with a good slice of tomato, and covered in melted cheese! What's not to love!

I tried the panko chicken special. It was absolutely the worst meal I've had since I moved to Hickory. First, the chicken portion was pathetically small, and other than the breading, it had no flavor or seasoning whatsoever. The rice and broccoli that was served with it was an afterthought. No seasoning, no flavor, nothing. They simply steamed both and served it. I've had better food at McD's.
