I am so happy that my indecisive self decided to give this place a try. I have not been impressed with most of the establishments in the area. My wife and I usually travel to Asheville for good food. On a Sunday there weren’t a lot of options. We decided to give backstreets a try. It’s been years since I ate here and didn’t remember. She got Cajun chicken pasta and I got possibly the best Rueben I’ve had in years. I’d say the pasta is better than Cheesecake Factory....
Backstreets is always good. The food is yummy, and the drinks are great. We've also always had great service. The only downfall is that there is always a wait, but that is to be expected with a consistently great restaurant. Worth it!
We had travelled 7 hours today from KY and got to Hickory for a 3 day get-away. The first restaurant we tried to go to (in the very cute Main Street/downtown area wouldn't seat us outside because there had been a light sprinkle, so we ended up at Backstreet and had a WONDERFUL experience.
